Do you also want to play the action MMO Anthem? Then you might be one of the lucky ones who receive a code from EA.
What is this action about? Through Reddit, Electronic Arts distributed some keys for Anthem for free. Players could grab the codes for PC, Xbox One, and PS4 (N/A) and had to indicate which one they took so that others know which keys are still available.
Electronic Arts wants players to stay home due to the current Corona crisis and has therefore launched the “Stay Home. Play Together.” campaign.
Maybe there are more keys available
Will there be more keys? It is quite possible that more keys will follow. Perhaps not only for Anthem but also for other EA games. Although this hasn’t been explicitly stated, the campaign is worded in such a way that it implies that more games could be distributed for free.
So keep an eye on the Reddit thread. You might find more free keys for games there.
Anthem is still receiving patches
What is the current status of Anthem? The developers recently announced that there will be no new content as the team is focusing on the fundamental overhaul of the online game and developing a sort of Anthem 2.0. However, there are more bug fixes and events.
That this is actually the case has been demonstrated by the developers who released a patch. Players reported that the Legendary Runner Weekly Challenge did not provide rewards. This bug has now been fixed. You will now receive your rewards regularly when you complete the challenge.
If you have already completed the challenge, you will receive the rewards retroactively. If that’s not the case for you, you should contact Anthem support.
What does this show us? Bioware is still taking care of bugs, but the current patch was very small. The team’s resources are therefore focused on the overhaul of the online game. Nevertheless, it is good to know that problems are being resolved quickly and that, Anthem is basically “too big to fail”.
