EA FC 27 brings some new features to Ultimate Team. We say goodbye to SBCs as we know them – and hopefully use our cards longer.
Recently, there were news about the Career Mode in EA FC 27, now we continue with Ultimate Team. In Ultimate Team, you try to build the perfect team. For that, you have had various options for several years, from opening packs, through SBCs to rewards, challenges, and evolutions.
This year, EA Sports says, everything should feel more rewarding. Among other things, adjustments are being made to how you can use certain rewards, spend less time in menus, or how long you can use your hard-earned cards.
We will show you the most important changes. And here you can find the official video about it:
Squad Building Challenges: SBCs will be much easier
When building SBCs, you usually have to pay attention to positions and chemistry values. For that, it is necessary to find the right players, which can sometimes be tedious and expensive.
That seems to be a thing of the past: In FC 27, SBCs will say goodbye to chemistry and positions. Instead, you only need to achieve an overall score, for which you can simply throw in any players. This feels significantly, significantly easier than before. And above all: Less time-consuming.
The FUT Gallery
The FUT Gallery is a new feature that somewhat resembles a sticker album. You need to complete sets of player cards to receive rewards. The cool thing about it: all cards that you have ever received in FUT 27 count. You do not need to recycle or redeem any of these cards; they simply count as soon as you receive them for the first time.
Cards should be useful longer
A often-cited criticism of FUT is that the painstakingly earned cards are only useful for a very short time before they become outdated. Here are some points that are supposed to address this problem:
- End-game items will be boosted less, so items remain relevant longer
- About 5 event weeks will be cut
- Players will have a maximum of 3 playstyles, and upgrades will be more targeted
- It will take longer to build strong teams – but the jump from a strong team to an elite team will be easier
- You will earn more coins and SP after matches
- In general, more coins and tradable packs should be earnable
- The evolutions will remain important. But there are now different paths that a starting object can take to become different. Thus, you can create quite individual cards.
- The playstyle lab allows for further customizations of players.
- Exciting: More single-player events are coming, so you can not only play individual matches but real tournaments against the AI. A new progress opportunity for PvE players.
Further details about the changes in FUT can be found in the official pitch notes from EA Sports (here on ea.com).
So overall, it seems that your Ultimate Team could really turn out to be a whole lot more individual than usual. It is possible that players will not all have the same meta cards at the end based on the changes, but rather a broader, more diverse mode will emerge. But: We will have to wait and see. Tell us in the comments what you think about the changes! And if you want to know what else is new: Here are exciting changes in the gameplay of EA FC 27.
