On Sunday, January 26, 2025, many players of EA FC 25 are complaining about the servers, as they cannot connect to Ultimate Team. EA’s customer support has not yet issued an official statement on this.
Which modes are affected by the “server down”? Currently, the connection to Ultimate Team does not seem to be functioning. Numerous users have reported about this under the latest post on the EA-FC support’s X account. (via EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication)
We also made an attempt on MeinMMO to connect to Ultimate Team and received the following error message:
“It is currently not possible to connect to Ultimate Team. You will return to the main menu.”
When can you play Ultimate Team again?
An official statement from EA is still pending. However, we assume that EA is working hard on this issue, as the current Team of the Year event (TOTY) in Ultimate Team likely sees a particularly high influx of players.
Whether EA’s unplanned maintenance is related to the faulty TOTY Crafting Upgrade SBC from Saturday (January 25) is currently unknown to us. (via EA SPORTS FC Direct Communication)
Can I log in via the Companion or Web App? The Companion App is also unavailable to us after several self-attempts, as it incorrectly recognizes a login from the console and therefore does not allow a second user.
The situation is different with the Web App. Here we can log in and continue to manage our Ultimate Team, complete SBCs, or open packs in the shop.

Which modes can you currently play at all? The impacts only affect the online services of Ultimate Team. All other online modes like Clubs or Online Seasons seem to be functioning without issue. Offline modes such as Player/Manager Career or the Kick-Off mode are still available to you.
As soon as there are updates and the servers are functioning again, we will inform you. In the meantime, you could take a look at Career Mode and assemble a team from the best talents in EA FC 25 and dominate the league and world football with them.
