At E3 2019, there will once again be a PC Gaming Show, where many new titles from various publishers will be announced. This year, the show is sponsored by Epic Games. What does that mean – especially for Steam and its followers?
What is the PC Gaming Show? The show features new games each year that do not just come from a specific studio or publisher. Here, developers can showcase their upcoming titles that might not fit into any of the other shows.
There are often indie titles that can be spotted here.
Last year, in 2018, the show provided a platform for the battle royale shooter Mavericks: Proving Grounds, Realm Royale, and Star Citizen.

A platform for many developers
What has been announced for this year? The show is expected to showcase even more in 2019 than ever before. So far, the following developers have announced they will show new titles:
- Annapurna Interactive
- Chucklefish
- Digital Extremes
- Digital Uppercut
- E-WIN
- Fatshark
- Fellow Traveller
- Frontier Developments
- Funcom
- Modus Games
- Paradox Interactive
- Perfect World Entertainment
- Raw Fury
- Rebellion
- Re-Logic
- Tripwire Interactive
Indie developers are also back and showcasing their works.
When does the show take place? The PC Gaming Show will be broadcast on June 10 at 7 PM our time at The Mayan Theater in LA.
Will the PC Gaming Show become the Epic Games Show?
What is special about it? This year, the show is sponsored by Epic Games. The company announced it will showcase new games and especially present new exclusive titles for the Epic Games Store.
What does this mean? Players are already wildly speculating that many of the titles shown during the PC Gaming Show will be presented as exclusive games for the Epic Games Store. Epic Games could use the show to celebrate its own store.
What is the problem? The Epic Games Store does not have a good reputation in the community due to many exclusive deals. Many feel that the way Epic secures games for the store is aggressive. Furthermore, the Epic Games Store offers fewer features than Steam and is considered insecure by many.
Accordingly, Epic Games sponsoring the PC Gaming Show is also a hot topic of discussion right now.
Stebsis sums up the opinion well on Reddit: “This is less a PC Gaming Show than an Epic Games Show.”
On June 10, we will know which games will be presented and which of them will appear exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
