What are the three endings in Dragon’s Dogma 2? The main quest line of the game leads you to the final confrontation with the dragon that took your heart at the beginning of the adventure.
The dragon will hold the person you have developed the strongest affinity for in its claws. Let’s now look at the three ways to end Dragon’s Dogma 2.
The launch trailer for Dragon’s Dogma 2 is spoiler-free:
The Three Endings of Dragon’s Dogma 2
The Bad Ending
- You allow the dragon to have its sacrifice and leave the area. The powerful creature asks you if you really want to leave. Confirm this choice.
- A cutscene plays where your hero sits on a throne looking sullen.
The Normal Ending
- You approach the dragon with your hero and attack it. It releases its prey and accepts your challenge.
- You then ride the dragon to an island where the final battle awaits you.
- Once you defeat the dragon, you see a cutscene of the people cheering for your hero in the throne room.
The True Ending
- While flying on the dragon to the island, you must hold on to it and then climb to its chest.
- You can identify the dragon’s weak point by a glowing pulse.
- Open your inventory there and select the Empowered Godsbane Blade. Choose the option “Apply to Self”.
- Your Awakened and the dragon crash down and you land in a mysterious place: the Unmoored World. There awaits you the true ending, which holds the toughest challenges of the game – more or less the endgame.
This is how you see all three endings in one run: First, earn the bad ending. Then restart your current save to go for the standard ending. During the credits, do not go to the throne, but look for the pathfinder. Talk to him until he takes you back in time. Now you can go for the true ending.
Endgame and New Game + – Things You Should Be Aware Of
What else do I need to know? Due to the limited save system of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can quickly shut yourself off from accessing the game’s content.
For example, if you start a new game with your current level and equipment (New Game +) after reaching the standard ending in the game menu, you will no longer be able to go back to the beginning of the dragon encounter to experience other endings.
Similarly, there is no turning back if you travel to the Unmoored World for the true ending. Therefore, you should complete all side quests and challenges that you want to retain in your first playthrough before riding the dragon.
Alternatively, you can use modifications to manage your save files and gain more flexibility. You can find more information about this here: 6 Best Mods for Dragon’s Dogma 2 That Are Worth It
