An important item in Dragon’s Dogma 2 can be used more than once. However, the game does not tell you that. The community discovered this fact and is now quite baffled.
What item is it? The camping gear is essential if you want to take a rest during your adventure in Dragon’s Dogma 2 from time to time.
Not only can you skip the dangerous nights filled with powerful monsters with it. You can also roast food like meat over the fire and gain bonuses from it.
So far, many players thought that the camping gear gets consumed when used. And that it was absolutely necessary to have sufficient reserves in your luggage. The problem is: camping gear weighs quite a lot.
The equipment you primarily find or can buy at the beginning weighs a hefty 7 kilograms. That is relatively much in Dragon’s Dogma 2, depending on the chosen class.
If you carry several of them around, your inventory gets cluttered very quickly. The consequence: your character moves slower and heavier. This noticeably affects gameplay.
It seems, however, that Capcom has omitted a crucial detail.
Camping gear does not get consumed
What has the community discovered? Some of you need to brace yourselves. Because camping gear is, contrary to what many believed, an item that does not get consumed.
This means in plain terms: you essentially only need a single kit. You can use it again after a restful night.
Restful is the keyword here. Because if you are attacked by roaming monsters at night, the equipment can get damaged. In this case, you need a new kit.
So, it might be beneficial to have at least one spare in your luggage. If necessary, you can stash the weight in your main pawn’s or support pawns’ inventory. Let them carry it.
It was discovered and made public by the X-user Jamie Moran:
Capcom has already announced first updates – but the community is not satisfied with that yet.
Many players feel foolish
How does the community react? The Reddit user Gowler4269 is just one of many players who have spoken out in complete disbelief.
He writes: “30 hours in the game and only now have I realized that camping gear does not disappear after resting… 30 f***** hours where each of my pawns has been hauling kits.”
Many players echo this sentiment. They are astonished, but also irritated that the game withholds this information. Many also feel really stupid:
- “I thought, due to the weight, they (the kits) weren’t worth it at all and I always returned to town (to rest),” says SideshowBoB44 in his Reddit post.
- “Does this mean I’ve been carrying around four kits at 90% weight load the whole time, and all for nothing?” asks Kohakuzuma.
- “Thanks. I’m glad I’m not the only noob here,” writes GamerbearAmargosa.
- “They (Capcom) should really explain this in a tutorial pop-up,” says Test88Heavy.
