A new gameplay trailer for the MMORPG Dragon Ball Z: Legend of Time and Space has been released. However, the initial reactions paint a grim picture of the game.
What is Dragon Ball Z: Legend of Time and Space? It is an MMORPG set in the universe of the well-known anime series Dragon Ball Z. You play as a hero from the classes Saiyan, Earthling, Majin, and Namekian, completing quests and battling evil monsters with your powers.
That’s not looking good
What can be seen in the new trailer? The video shows you gameplay from the MMORPG. In cartoon graphics, which of course remind you of the anime series, you get to see regular MMORPG fare. The hero wanders through a rather barren landscape, talks to NPCs to accept quests, and fights against monsters and other players in an arena.
What are the reactions to the game? The opinions of players are downright devastating. For many, it looks like a generic MMORPG without any distinguishing features. Moreover, the somewhat dreary graphics are not well received, much like the rather sluggish battles.
Many consider the MMORPG as something that is just unnecessary in this form.
Fans of the anime Dragon Ball Z even believe that it looks worse than many mobile games and that the title should be canceled immediately.
Even the first video was received poorly. The impression that many had of the game back then is now confirmed by the new video.
Will this ever amount to something?
What’s special about it? Dragon Ball Z: Legend of Time and Space was showcased at the gaming fair ChinaJoy 2019, but hardly any magazine reported on it. There is basically no advertising for the title. The game comes from Giant Network, a very large development studio under the Tencent corporation.
Furthermore, Bandai Namco distributed the official license for Dragon Ball Z to the studio.
When is Dragon Ball Z: Legend of Time and Space supposed to be released? Currently, there is no date yet. If reactions remain so negative, Tencent and Bandai Namco might consider whether it makes sense to even release the MMORPG.
