The Whisper Mission in Destiny 2 excited large parts of the community. In addition to a new exotic sniper, there were numerous secrets to discover – possibly even more than previously thought. Two of them are currently causing heated debates.
By coincidence, a anomaly on IO was discovered last week. The associated Whisper Mission had taken the community by storm. After all, it allowed players to acquire Whisper of the Worm, the reincarnation of one of the most beloved and best sniper rifles from Destiny 1 – the Black Spindle from the Crota Raid.

But the underground area where the Whisper Mission takes place offers many secrets in addition to the new Whisper sniper. Some fans even dream of a possible return of the most beloved raid from Destiny 1.
Does an old mechanic and a Vex portal hint at the Vault of Glass?

In the underground area, fans encountered two peculiarities that sparked discussions about a potential return of the Vault of Glass. The Vault of Glass was the first raid in Destiny 1 and embodies, for many, the best raid in the game series so far.
The Oracle Mechanic: A significant clue is provided by one of the secret chests hidden in the mission. The chest can only be opened by shooting several waves of appearing melodic lights in a specific order at a certain location during the mission.
This mechanic is strongly reminiscent of the Oracle phase of the Vault of Glass. Accordingly, the knowledge gained from the first Destiny raid proved to be helpful in deciphering this puzzle.

The Vex Portal: In addition to the well-known mechanic from Vault of Glass, there is another discovery within the Whisper Mission that currently gives a boost to the hopes of fans for a possible return of the iconic raid.

Where the Oracles spawn, there is also a Vex portal. It currently has no real function – it cannot be entered. However, it is possible to look through the portal. Most fans agree: what can be seen on the other side is the Vault of Glass.
Is the Vault of Glass coming as a Remastered version? Some Guardians consider these aspects to be hints at a potential return of the beloved raid. After all, Bungie is known for placing such references deliberately.
However, a short mission within the original Vault of Glass, as was the case in Destiny 1, is conceivable in the eyes of many fans. It does not necessarily have to lead to the return of the raid.
Many fans are sure of this: The Vault of Glass will likely appear in some form in Destiny 2 eventually. Perhaps searching for further hints will even lead to discoveries in the Whisper Mission again. For now, however, it remains speculation. So far, there is no solid evidence.
What do you think? Will there be a brief detour into the Vault of Glass? Or might Bungie even bring back the entire raid?
