Data miners have dug into the game files of Red Dead Online and unearthed some pretty creepy-looking character models. Are zombies finally coming to Red Dead Online?
Here’s what the data miners found: On the YouTube channel “Red Dead Guides,” there is currently a new video showcasing new character models that data miners have uncovered from the game files. All models are categorized as the “Army of Fear” and look quite eerie – by the way, this is not the only creepy find in recent days. You can watch the video here:
Are there zombies for Halloween?
What kind of models are these? The data miners refer to the characters as “zombie models.” They found 29 male zombie models and 19 female. In the comments, fans are now hoping for a zombie event – after all, the zombie theme keeps recurring in Red Dead Online. Many are wishing for an expansion in the style of “Undead Nightmare” from the first Red Dead Redemption.
However, not everyone sees the models simply as zombies. The characters all wear uniform-looking clothing. They may belong to a cult that is intended to make your life difficult?
Fans are speculating anyway:
- “It could be a Halloween event where the whole town is infected and you have to escape, rescue some NPCs – or maybe both,” hopes user “Cullen Bohannon” (via YouTube).
- “It would be cool if they did a Free Roam zombie apocalypse that breaks out across all Free Roam servers. That the closer we get to Halloween, the more zombies appear on the map, until on Halloween there are hordes of them all over the South,” hopes user skip ringelli (via YouTube).
What it ultimately is, remains to be seen -just like the answer to the question of whether the models will even make it into the game. After all, this is the result of data miners and not an official announcement.
