New games have recently had terrible releases – especially on PC. Soon, a highly anticipated title will be released with Diablo 4, and the new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been well received almost everywhere. But are new games still worth your time, or is the risk of a flop too high?
It feels like 2023 has been struggling with one flop after another. The highly anticipated Jedi Survivors had serious performance issues, the vampire shooter Redfall has failed for many testers.
The latest example is The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. The story game, which many fans hoped would be a hit, was so poorly optimized, that our colleagues from GameStar couldn’t even publish a review.
The poor releases are fueling rumors in the community: is it the publishers who are pushing for completion? Or is it the developers? Is there ultimately a technical problem with graphics cards behind this?
In any case, the experiences have dampened the enthusiasm of many fans and sowed skepticism. Nevertheless, there are still some bright spots: the new Zelda is particularly well received, countless players are looking forward to Diablo 4, eagerly awaiting the release after the beta.
You can find all the information about Diablo 4 and its release in our overview here. The latest trailer, however, once again leads to divided opinions:
