There are problems again with Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher for PC. Players report long or failed login attempts and issues logging in.
What is going on? Today, on the evening of Tuesday, November 5th, there are again login issues with Battle.net. This is already the third day in a row, as the servers had similar problems on Sunday and Monday evening at around the same time.
Players report that they cannot log in or the login takes an eternity. They are disconnected from games or the launcher and then enter a queue that often lasts several minutes to get back into the launcher.
What is the current server status? According to the official Twitter channel of Blizzard Support, the developers are already aware that there are problems. They are working on a solution.
Update (November 6, 11:00 AM): The problem apparently continues. The regular maintenance work has been completed, but players still report disruptions.
Disruptions and Login Issues at Blizzard
How long will it take to fix? In the past few days, the developers needed roughly two to three hours to fix the major issues. After that, most players were gradually able to log in again.
On Sunday, the tweet came that the issues had been fully resolved, but that was only six hours later. If the same causes are the reason, it could go a little faster today.
Who is affected? Affected are PC players who currently cannot log into Battle.net. There was an update of the launcher that closes it and automatically reopens it. However, those who do it end up in a queue.
Due to the authentication problems, it can also affect players who are currently still logged in. This could lead to connection issues or longer lobby searches, for example in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare or Overwatch.
Also, WoW players should preferably not log out right now to avoid getting into queues. Those raiding tonight should refrain from restarting the game for now.
Are there already solutions? So far, no solutions or workarounds have been officially confirmed. Some players report that it seems to help to enable the beta launcher in the settings. This is supposed to help in playing Overwatch, but it is also not confirmed yet.
