The Echo of Andariel is one of the toughest bosses in Diablo 4. We’ll show you how to summon and defeat her, as well as what you should pay attention to.
This is how you summon Andariel: To summon the Echo of Duriel, you no longer need any special materials since Season 8. You can simply enter her dungeon and summon her at the altar. Head to the “Hall of the Hanged Man” in Kehjistan at the waypoint “Tarsarak” on a torment level. When you interact with the altar, the boss fight will begin.
Once you’ve defeated Andariel, a chest will spawn that you can open with the known materials to get the loot:
- 2x Sand-Searing Shackles
- You can acquire them among other things from chests of the Whispering Tree, from Hellish Floods, from Treasure Goblins, and from the boss “Lord Zir” in the hideout “Seat of the Ancient” in the “Darkened Path”
- 2x Needle-Pierced Dolls
- You can acquire them among other things from chests of the Whispering Tree, from Hellish Floods, from Treasure Goblins, and from the boss “Beast in the Ice” in the dungeon “Glacier Split”
What level is Andariel? With Season 6, Blizzard abolished the often-criticized world levels and integrated a new difficulty system. The monster levels now depend on the level you are playing at, and are no longer displayed. Thus, the level of Andariel depends on your difficulty level, as does that of the opponents you will encounter in the “Hall of the Hanged Man”.
Defeating Andariel: Tips for the Fight
How do I prepare? First, you need a powerful build to have any chance against the tough boss. A list of the best builds in the endgame of Diablo 4 can be found in the tier list for Season 8. The more damage you deal, the less time Andariel has to attack you.
Because Andariel uses all elements, you should also ensure that your resistances are at 70%. If that is not the case, stock up on potions to increase the lowest value.
What should I watch out for? Andariel will hit you and attack you with blood projectiles that are difficult to dodge. Her hard blow will knock you back, and you could get hit by other attacks during this time. Try to keep as much distance from Andariel as possible to avoid her melee attacks.
The boss attacks you with a poison nova. You can dodge this by moving into the gap between the projectiles. Afterwards, she summons a rune circle that explodes, deals massive damage, and knocks you back. Around the circle, Andariel spawns smaller circles that also explode one after another. Try to dodge the circles as well.
At some point, Andariel will leave the arena and summon three “Images of Torment”. They won’t attack you, but you need to destroy them within their protective barriers for the boss fight to continue. In the meantime, various things will spawn that will attack and knock you back. These “combat pauses” occur when Andariel is still over 80% and 40% health.
After the second pause, Andariel summons two floating skulls at two opposite ends of the arena, connected by a beam of fire. The beam slowly rotates in a circle and deals immense damage if it hits you.
Andariel: Loot Drops
What loot does Andariel drop? Against Andariel, you have a chance for various uniques:
- All classes: God Slayer’s Crown, Flickering Step, Tibault’s Will, Rusty Seal Ring of X’Fal, Soulburn, Talisman of the Banished Lord, Blue Wrath
- Barbarians: Joritz the Mighty’s Jaw Helm
- Sorcerers: Brand Scar, Blue Rose
- Druids: Storm Roar, Dolmen Stone
- Hunters: Cowl of the Nameless, Rogue’s Leather
- Necromancers: Black River, Blood Moon Spine
- Spiritborn: Sepazontec, Staff of Kepeleke, Gorget of the Sunbird
You can summon all bosses from torment level 1 to farm certain uniques. To experience a greater challenge, you can unlock higher torment levels in the pit.
