After the rocky start of Season 3, the developers quickly followed up with patches for Diablo 4. Now Patch 1.3.1 is already in the works and is set to be released this Thursday, February 1. You can find the full patch notes here.
The highlights in brief:
- The Scoundrel is getting more buffs. Many of his skills are being significantly buffed, even though he can already take down the strongest bosses solo.
- Some of the most annoying monster affixes like Vampiric are getting nerfed.
- Over 50 bugs will be fixed, including errors that prevented the season campaign from being completed properly.
- Patch 1.3.1 will be released on February 1.
What changes with the patch? The game will overall become easier. The buff to the Scoundrel will enhance most of the damage abilities of the pet. The damage of Stacking, Impaling, Circling, and Ambushing will be increased by a whopping 30%, while other abilities will see a boost of 10-20%.

- The monster affix Vampiric now heals roughly half as much at all world levels
- The Suppressor field no longer lasts permanently but for only 6 seconds
- Nightmare dungeon seals now indicate the monster level
In addition to the highlights mentioned above, there are numerous bug fixes. This includes some fixes for accessibility and seasonal campaign quests. A significant portion of the key changes was already implemented in Patch 1.3.0a.

Patch 1.3.1 – Complete Patch Notes and New Event
Alongside the patch, the new event Lunar Awakening has been announced. In this event, you will receive up to 50% more experience and 30% more movement speed through limited-time buffs. In addition, there are cosmetic rewards and buffs in Nightmare dungeons for increased glyph XP.
Buffs are provided through shrines. Existing shrines will be slightly adjusted for the event. For example, the Artillery Shrine will now grant the ability to fire holy bombs while casting abilities.
Blizzard has already addressed some of the biggest points of criticism with Patch 1.3.0a. These include:
- Vaults that now provide more loot
- The Scoundrel, who is now significantly more useful and easier to level
- Traps that are no longer as punishing as before
- the Echo of Malphas which is now stronger but drops more loot
The changes have already had an effect. Although Season 3 was heavily criticized at release, opinions have shifted positively by the weekend. Now there is praise for the changes, especially for the vaults that some players now demand to be the new standard:
Fletcher himself addresses detailed feedback from various users. There were critiques about pet builds in general and the new season pet in particular, but also praise for the ongoing hell floods and more storage space.
In general, feedback is taken seriously, and discussions are ongoing regarding what can be implemented in the game and when. Fletcher says: Player impressions are relayed from the community to the developers. However, Blizzard has communicated earlier that some criticisms may take time to address: Players constantly complain about Diablo 4 – Blizzard praises feedback but some issues won’t improve for months
