First corruption, now vampires. In Diablo 4, with Season 2 comes one threat after another, and you must banish them again. Therefore, we show you the most important info about the start of Season 2 in our overview.
Update, 7:50 PM: Diablo 4 is experiencing massive login issues after you downloaded the new update 1.2.0. Blizzard is delaying the release by a few hours and will report back as soon as the problems are resolved (via x.com). It is not yet known when that will be.
When does Season 2 start? Diablo 4 Season 2 starts today, October 17, 2023, at 7 PM.
Does Season 2 start seamlessly? When Season 1 ends, Blizzard will most likely release a major update on all platforms.
Patch 1.2.0 will be released and with it a long list of many changes regarding QoL, adjustments, buffs as well as minor nerfs. So get ready for a download.
What is Season 2 about? Season 2 is about the aftermath of the corruption. This leads to a vampire plague that you now need to defeat with a new NPC. We have embedded the story trailer for you:
What changes does Season 2 bring? Along with a new story and fresh items, players can also look forward to a large list full of buffs, changes, and adjustments to known mechanics. Additionally, heroes can harness vampire powers. There is a small overview of the most important changes. To open it, use the box:
The most important patch notes in German
- Resistances will now be additive and will no longer increase when capped at 70%
- Armors now only have physical resistances
- Jewelry can have all resistances
- Resistances can be increased through skills, items, paragon, etc.
- Resistances are supposed to become more important in combat
- The cap can be reached by any player up to level 80. Level 100 is not necessary
- Elixirs with resistances have been adjusted
- Almost all uniques have been revamped and improved

- Slot rules modified
- Effects of uniques adjusted
- 3 new uniques in Season 2:
- Flickstep – For Everyone
- Scoundries Leaders – For Hunters
- Dolmen Stone – For Druids
- Uniques are intended to be farmed specifically in Season 2 through new bosses

- All classes have been revised and receive buffs
- Necro, Barbarian, and Druid have been slightly nerfed
- Wizards have been strengthened
- Barbarian’s paragon has been improved and Berserker is now multiplicative instead of additive
- Hunters and Druids are already powerful, only received minor buffs
- Necro gets stronger minions
- Damage buckets have been adjusted concerning critical damage and vulnerability. More builds should shine, and players should not only focus on these stats.
- Paragon is supposed to become more important and increase your damage. Additionally, uniques and talents should support you.
- 2 new paraglyphs will be added for each class
During the season, patch 1.2.1 will also be released, which will provide you with new features such as a special room.
What happens to Season 1? It is still unclear whether Blizzard will adopt some mechanics from Season 1. However, we assume that everything from Season 1 will be packed into the content vault. If Blizzard reveals more information about Season 1, we will update this part in the overview.
