Season 1 brings several new features to Diablo 4. One of them is the Scroll of Amnesia, which resets all your Paragon and skill points – for free. MeinMMO explains how to get it.
What is this item?
- The Scroll of Amnesia comes into play with Season 1. With it, you can perform a complete reset for your character.
- The item itself is free for everyone and is included in the Season journey. You will likely need level 60 to use it.
- Season 1 of Diablo 4 starts on July 20. In our overview, you will find all the information about Season 1.
This is how you save gold: The scroll resets all skill and Paragon points that you have spent up to your corresponding level. This means: you save about 13 million gold per use, which is the cost of a “full reset.”
What may be even more important: You do not have to reset each Paragon point individually, but get all refunded at once. The current system requires that you must remove each point separately, which has caused a lot of criticism.

The Scroll of Amnesia is a reward for the journey in Diablo 4. The system accompanies the Battle Pass. If you play the Seasons of Diablo 4, there are two systems in which you can make progress:
- the journey, where you can earn favor by completing certain tasks
- the Battle Pass, which you advance with the favor you earn
In the journey, there are various sections. You will likely only receive the scroll right at the end in chapter 7 of the journey. It is consumed upon use according to current information, so you should not “waste” it “just like that”.
What is the item good for? If you want to try new builds without starting a new class, you need to reset your skills and realign and fill the Paragon boards. Otherwise, the build will not be very effective.
At the moment, respecing is so cumbersome and expensive that many players refrain from it, even though they would like to try out other builds. This will likely change with Season 1. If you need a little inspiration, you can find the best current builds in our tier list:
