On September 12, Patch 1.1.4 for Diablo 4 will be released and will bring changes. Gameplay changes and bug fixes make up a large part of the content. We will show you in the overview why the EXP buff is smaller than it seems.
What kind of patch is this? The developers announced Update 1.1.4 for Diablo 4 a few days ago. Fans are looking forward to the buff on experience points, among other things. Blizzard writes, ‘The total experience bonus for the seasonal blessing of the ‘Urn of Aggression’ has been increased from 8% to 20%.’
Diablo expert Wudijo explains in a video what these numbers actually mean.
Basically only about 3% buff
What’s it about: Blizzard explains that they want to help players reach level 100 a little faster with the EXP increase.
In his video, he explains that the increase from 8% to 20% may look good at first glance, but you have to look closely.
Ultimately, the bonus on experience points comes out to about 3.83%. Because the bonuses are additive and not multiplicative.
- We play with 100% base experience points
- Due to the difficulty level, an additional 200% applies, bringing you to 300%
- With a potion, you reach 305%
- Now there were previously 8% from the ‘Urn of Aggression’ buff, bringing you to 313%
- Now that becomes 325%
- If you divide 325 by 313, that gives you 3.83%
- In terms of the total amount of XP received, after the patch you will receive 3.83% more XP than before the patch
What exactly this means for the various bonuses in Diablo 4 is explained by Wudijo with examples. We include Wudijo’s video here:
‘As far as I know, the bonus only counts for monster kills. So not for the bonus for completing nightmare dungeons.’ He explains that it is still a bonus, but less than you initially think. However, even small bonuses like this one would help you reach max level faster. He can imagine that Blizzard will implement further changes in the future that go in this direction.
What do you think about this patch? Do you not care that the percentages for the EXP buff are slightly lower and are still happy because leveling goes a bit faster anyway? Or would you have wished for bigger changes?
Even after leveling, there are still problems: A player reaches level 100 in Diablo 4 and draws his conclusion: Now I know why everyone is complaining
