For some time now, we have known the German voice of Lilith from Diablo 4. If you think the lady looks familiar, you are right: the voice actress was also heard in Diablo 3 before. Moreover, she greets the viewers of ARD every evening.
Who is Lilith?
- Lilith serves as a major antagonist in Diablo 4. She is currently trying to build a cult in Sanctuary.
- Originally, the demoness and daughter of Mephisto is even responsible for having created the world at all.
- Whether we will really fight her or can join her, we will only find out in the game.

Who voices Lilith? In the original, Jessica Straus voices the mother of demons. Straus has also voiced Lilith in Darksiders 2 and the Amazon in Diablo 2. The German voice of Lilith is Claudia Urbschat-Mingues.
You may know Urbschat-Mingues’ voice from the female monk in Diablo 3 and Niobe in the Matrix movies. More importantly, since 2014, her voice has been heard on television every evening with the famous phrase: “Here is the first German television with the Tagesschau.”
For the first time, her voice was heard in the trailer for the Open Beta and gave one or the other goosebumps. If you now always think of Claus Kleber, Susanne Daubner, or the weather report when playing Diablo 4: You’re welcome!

The fact that such completely different roles arise happens relatively often in gaming, by the way. Many voice actors take on characters or roles that actually have nothing to do with each other:
- Thomas Fritsch voices the barbarian in Diablo 3 and was for a long time the narrator’s voice of The Three Question Marks.
- Manfred Lehmann, the voice of Duke Nukem, is the off-voice of an image film for the Berlin police and the famous Praktiker commercial (
20 % off everything
). - The voice of the female humans in Guild Wars 2 and Leliana in Dragon Age: Origins, Marion von Stengel, was the announcer at NDR in the 90s.
You should therefore not immediately dismiss the German dubbing despite Tagesschau flashbacks. Claudia Urbschat-Mingues is a talented voice actress and there are some games that sound really good in German:
