Diablo 4 launches with the classes Druid, Barbarian, and Sorceress. We provide you with an initial insight into these classes and their abilities in D4.
What was presented? On November 1st, Blizzard showed at BlizzCon 2019 the first trailers for the new Diablo 4. Fans had been looking forward to this for a long time. The new videos show that Diablo IV is getting really dark.
It is now clear that D4 will initially offer the three classes Barbarian, Sorceress, and Druid. Players had long hoped to see the Druid in Diablo 3 in vain, but in the new installment, this shapeshifter will be playable again. Looks like the Druid might also make it to D3.
There are supposed to be 5 characters in Diablo 4. However, only the first three have been presented so far.
We provide you with an overview of what is currently known about the characters and their spells and attacks. This is far from everything that awaits you concerning these characters, but it is a first impression.
Druid in Diablo 4 – The Shapeshifter
How is the class presented? So far, Blizzard has revealed two forms the Druid can transform into.
- Giant Bear
- Bloodthirsty Werewolf
Blizzard describes the Druid as being able to transform “effortlessly”. The class wields power over earth and storm and the wrath of nature.
What attacks are available? In the videos, you can see
- Melee attacks that hit multiple targets,
- Giant stones that strike multiple enemies in a straight line,
- A wild charge that quickly rushes through hordes of monsters

Sorceress in Diablo 4 – Meteors and Icicles
How is the class presented? The Sorceress has her roots in Diablo 2 and uses the power over the elements to defeat enemies.
What attacks are available? The Sorceress can attack with icicles, rain down lightning from the sky, or summon burning meteors that crash down on the opponents.

Barbarian in Diablo 4 – Brings Battle Cries to the Fight
How is the class presented? Blizzard describes the Barbarian as a class with brutal melee combat. In battle, he can equip four different weapons and switch quickly between them. The weapon system is called “Arsenal”.
What attacks are available? It is known that the Barbarian will use powerful battle cries in combat. Seismic strikes that shake the earth and drive enemies away are also back.
