The Pit is a new endgame activity in Diablo 4 that can be quite challenging. It’s not necessarily the bosses that stress some players the most, but apparently the spiders.
The new endgame content “The Pit” has up to 200 levels that become increasingly harder. Initially, the high levels were so difficult that even experts couldn’t manage them. Players wondered if it was even possible to complete the higher levels without cheats.
With Patch 1.4.2, affixes and the damage of the bosses were adjusted to match the difficulty level of the dungeon corresponding to the pit level. However, players are now complaining about completely different enemies on Reddit.
What enemies are the players complaining about? On Reddit, “Darth-Jaybles” asked the Diablo 4 community on July 1 if he was the only one who wanted to quit a pit run as soon as he sees spiders in the first room. He is not “arachnophobic or anything,” but the constant slowdowns and poison are just unpleasant.
In the comments, various users discuss the most annoying enemies in the Pit. “TheGantrithor” agrees with the post’s creator:
I feel the same way. But there are two types of spiders. The first type isn’t so bad because they throw a web that kind of spreads out. But the second type is a disaster. They throw TRIPLE webs like artillery with precision and in an arc that can hit you from across the room and even off-screen. […] Dodging is almost impossible.
And even WORSE is that every map that has spiders also has the corpse archers. It’s just a mess of getting sniped and consuming potions.
I immediately log out and reset when I see those spiders. Waste of time. It’s not a question of whether they will kill me, but when.
What enemies annoy other players? In the comments, some people agree with “Darth-Jaybles”. Others mention snakes, especially because of the poison – similar to the spiders. Despite maximum resistance, the damage can be significant and take away a lot of health. If attacks, such as nets that slow down or immobilize the character, are added, it can become dangerous. Snakes could also play a role in “Vessel of Hatred,” the first expansion for Diablo 4.
“bitemejackass” writes: “Seriously, these snakes are really annoying. I hate the poisonous ones, but the ones with lightning damage are even worse. I just walk away when I see lightning snakes. No one has time for this lightning snake nonsense.” And “bigmanorm” replies that he is convinced that resistance against lightning does not work.
For “Korghal,” there is nothing worse than a snake oracle with lightning damage: “You get distracted for a moment, and suddenly you’re dead because three beams turn you to ash.” And “bitemejackass” responds: “Ugh, yes, they are the worst. I see them and know that I’ll be dead in a second, no matter what I do.”
Which enemies annoy you the most in the Pit? Would you also quit the run right away, or would you stay in anyway? If you are one of those whose characters tend to die at the bosses in the Pit, we have a tip for you to save unnecessary running back to the boss arena after respawning.
