New profile picture on Twitter and Facebook sparks discussion among players
What exactly can be seen? The official Twitter account of Diablo has changed both the profile picture and the background. The same has happened on Facebook.
The new image shows a figure wearing a red robe. The face is not visible. In the left hand, the person holds a lantern from which a mysterious symbol emanates. You can see a chalice with a glowing sun above it. Many players are now wondering: Who could this be?
This is what players are discussing: Some suspect that Inarius, an angel, could be hiding behind the robe. Inarius once led the “Angiris Council” but left the “High Heavens.” Lilith, who is supposed to play a big role in Diablo 4, teamed up with him and created the world Sanctuary and the Nephalem. Someone writes (via reddit.com):
Could this new holy symbol be the logo of the Cathedral of Light, which Inarius once led? And what if he is the same as the Prophet who led the group of the D3 Sorceress [referring to the Sorceress from Diablo III], in the form of the “Veiled Prophet” who heads the Cathedral of Light?
The fact that the shown person apparently has no physical head is supposed to indicate to many that the depicted person must certainly be an angel. This is how angels are usually portrayed in Diablo, as can also be seen in Auriel or Tyrael. However, there is no guarantee yet, as Blizzard has not commented on the image so far.
Many believe that important news about Diablo 4 could emerge in a few days.
