This year’s BlizzCon is particularly anticipated by Diablo fans. Long before Blizzard’s big event, several conspiracy theories circulated, allegedly containing signs for Diablo 4. Secret messages and loaded dice were supposed to indicate Diablo 4. However, after there was no major Diablo 4 reveal at BlizzCon, a recent job posting for Diablo gives fans hope again.
Blizzard is looking for employees for a Diablo project
On the official Blizzard career website, one can apply for a “Senior Game Design” position, specifically aimed at Diablo. Creating story, lore, and gameplay is part of the job’s responsibilities. Additionally, the candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in content design and be familiar with Blizzard’s games.
Are we expecting a Diablo 3 add-on or Diablo 4?
What Blizzard specifically plans with this job posting is currently unknown. It could be a new add-on for Diablo 3 with a new story section. Is a new add-on for Diablo 3 the right way for this game series? Possibly, the developers will conclude the game after the Necromancer DLC and start a whole new chapter.
Diablo 4 could be a completely new adventure that fans of the series can dive into. With a strong story and new features, the developers could bring fresh wind into the game. Unfortunately, there is currently no official announcement on this topic.
