Tonight, on the 18th of October, Patch 2.4.1 is available for download on PS4 and Xbox One. Will there be a server downtime?
Update 7:15 PM: According to Bungie, the patch is now available for download. The update is just under 300 MB in size. You can find the patch notes here – definitely read them. Important information is included!
Update 7:10 PM: Upon login, there is a message stating that an update is required. However, it apparently is still not available for download.
Today at 11 PM, the Heroic Mode of “Wrath of the Machine” will start. Bungie wants to hold another race to award the “World First” status. In the “normal” mode, it only took about two hours for the first fireteam to defeat the final boss Aksis. We are curious how long the heroic Aksis will hold out.
The Heroic Mode does not begin until 11 PM because Bungie will first deploy an update. All Guardians should have the same chances to start the raid, which is why a few hours are given to download and install Patch 2.4.1. However, Bungie did not necessarily consider the European Guardians – after all, most should be in bed at this time during the week and not in “Wrath of the Machine”.
The update 2.4.1 is expected around 7 PM our time. No maintenance work and no server downtime are listed.
Around 7 PM, you will be brought to the login screen on PS4 so that you can start the update. On Xbox One, you can restart Destiny to download the update or wait until the game itself brings you to the login screen at a later time.
At 10 PM, all Guardians who have not yet installed the update will be removed from their activities and brought to the login screen. By now, the patch must be installed.

What changes with Patch 2.4.1?
The complete patch notes are not yet available. Bungie usually releases these shortly after the update goes live. We will report on it promptly.
So far, it is known that the maximum light level is raised to 400. Additionally, the light level of the loot in some activities will be increased. You can find out what options you have to reach light level 400 after update 2.4.1 here.
However, the patch is said to bring even more changes.
