In Destiny, a father is very proud: his 5-year-old son has made it to the Lighthouse on Mercury.
On reddit, a father shares his joy with the entire Destiny community: The 5-year-old son of the proud dad has made it to the Lighthouse through the Trials of Osiris and scored some great loot. Of course, the little Guardian didn’t accomplish this masterpiece all by himself.
Therefore, the father’s gratitude goes to two streamers, “DrLupo” and “Ramblinnn”, who have shown a lot of willingness to help and patience towards the little guy.
Guardians are carried through the Trials of Osiris
These streamers belong to that part of the community that offers to “carry” others through the Trials of Osiris. In various forums, you can also find German-speaking Guardians who offer this service. They are characterized by the fact that they can carry less skilled players through this weekly PVP mode, so that even newcomers can get their hands on the coveted loot.
This approach is quite controversial, as it allows any “noob” to reach the Lighthouse on Mercury. And that is not at all the point, according to Guardians, who have earned this success through hard work and time ‒ just as it should be.
Months ago, we reported that some people charge well for this service: 100 dollars for a trip to Mercury. However, Bungie has no official statement on this. Derek Carroll, the head of this mode, responded:
“We avoid the topic and will continue to do so. I really have nothing to say about it.”
The father of the 5-year-old rascal says he has been watching these streamers for months and has tried countless times to be chosen as the third man. But when he sent DrLupo a message asking if he would help his son in the Trials, his response was “overwhelming.”
5-Year Old Gets a Few Kills and Scores Great Loot in Destiny
To cut the story short: It was no problem for the two streamers, and they achieved 7 victories in a row. His son even got a few kills himself, performed some revives, and even got fusion rifle kills. Additionally, he scored excellent loot that even his dad is jealous of.
He proudly presents the little man’s statistics:

- 303 boots
- 313 Doctrine of Passing (Adept)

- The emblem ‒ the little one is the most happy about this.
The father believes that streamers like Ramblinnn and DrLupo bring Destiny to an even higher level, as they selflessly help other Guardians out of pure willingness to assist. This is “amazing.” He even refers to them as heroes. Certainly, there are voices in the community that see the matter in a different light.
At the end of his post, he thanks the Destiny community once again. He has been a passionate Guardian since day one, who has invested a lot of time into the game with his son by his side. Now, the father must listen to sentences like:
“Dad, I am now better than you, I have a black Doctrine of Passing.”
