A new data-mining find is currently stirring up conversation about Destiny 2. It looks like there could be one more surprise in Season 9, even after the big riddle in the Corridors of Time.
What exactly was found? Bungie had announced some surprises for Season 9 in 2020. And if the latest data-mining find is confirmed, there could soon be the next one following the mammoth puzzle in the Corridors of Time.
A known data miner, Ginsor, recently unearthed a new voice line in the game data, which apparently belongs to an unpublished cinematic from the Season 9. He believes we could see this cutscene at the end of the current season of Dawn. This find is currently sparking various debates.
By the way, just recently, Ginsor found clear hints about the return of the Trials: Destiny 2: It looks like the Trials are finally returning with Season 10

What is the voice line about? It is spoken by Warlock Osiris. He is essentially delivering a monologue but is clearly addressing a conversation partner. It is said in an unusually sharp tone:

Who is Osiris speaking to? It is not entirely known, and that is why there is currently a lively debate about it. Many are very curious about who the conversation partner could be.
There are quite a few theories – especially since Season 9 and the corresponding story revolve around time travel.
- Some find it conceivable that it could be a possibly new NPC being introduced at the end of Season 9 for the new season – for example, Shin Malphur, to whom the spoken words would indeed fit. Or Toland.
- Some believe it could be established characters like the presumed dead Speaker or also the Wanderer, Zavala, or even the Cabal Emperor Calus. The Warmind Rasputin is also considered another possibility.
- Others think it could be our Guardian – possibly in a different timeline.
What does the new voice line mean for Season 9? First of all, it means more excitement.
After the rather disappointing story finale of Season 8, many Guardians had tempered their expectations for the story of Season 9. But due to the data find, some players are now hopeful for a really thrilling development at the end of the current season. Who is this mysterious conversation partner? What is the decision about? What exactly did Osiris see? Could this be a reference to the conclusion of Shadowkeep?
On the other hand, a potential dark fate of the Guardians is now also being discussed. In some leaks about Destiny 3, it was already mentioned that one might turn to the Darkness as a Guardian and also be able to use corresponding abilities. Some now think it’s conceivable that this dialogue could lay the groundwork for that.
Ultimately, it involves time travel, and our “dark” Guardian might have already encountered Osiris in the future.
