We are in week 9 of Season 23 of Destiny 2 and most players have already completed the seasonal story. Until February, when the new weekly quests come into play, this week is a good opportunity to play Iron Banner, catch up on a few things, or do some cleaning up.
This week: This week, Lord Saladin returns to the Tower for the last time in Season 23. So this is the officially last chance for you to earn or gild the Iron Banner title and also earn the armor ornaments as well as new shaders and badges. While there has been speculation about another Iron Banner in week 13, Bungie has not confirmed this yet.
With this Iron Banner, you also have the choice of which mode you want to play for the first time, as two modes are now selectable – Control
and Stronghold
.
Anyone not interested in PvP can use the time for other activities, as new weekly quests based on your progress, called “Wishes,” do not arrive until February.
- Uncompleted triumphs that you never really had time for can now be completed.
- A close look in the vault might end the strange creaking that suggests your accumulated inventory is about to fly out of the vault. Our best tips on this can be found in this article: Is your vault in Destiny 2 too full? – 7 tips to clean up properly
Or you can visit the dungeon Guardian’s Pillar
this week. In the meantime, we will tell you what is rotating this week.
The key information on activities from January 23 to January 30.

- In an attempt to reactivate the defense of the city of Neomuna through the CloudArk, you must fight many Vex and Taken while completing tricky sections on your Sparrow.

Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
Farmable Endgame on a weekly rotation: For all who love challenges and perfected loot, the so-called Legacy rotations are waiting in the endgame. These can be repeated and therefore farmed.
What does “Farmable Endgame” mean in Destiny 2?
Since Season 21, older missions and raids have been rotating weekly as legacy activities and are farmable. This means: The active rotation raid, the active rotation dungeon, and the exotic rotation missions can be farmed in the week. You can thus complete the individual encounters multiple times to receive different items and complete your collection. Including possible exotics that are available in these contents.
- The weekly legacy raid is “Garden of Salvation” with the exotic pulse rifle
Divinity
- Additionally, you can farm the dungeon “Guardian’s Pillar.” There is the exotic weapon “Hierarchy of Claims” to earn.
- The weekly exotic mission is “Vox Obscura” with the exotic grenade launcher “Dead Messenger”.
Weekly Activities
If you haven’t finished the story and your triumphs for Season 23 yet, you can still do so. Even after the story ends, these contents remain available.
These are the ritual activities of Season 23:
- The Circus: Cross the dangerous paths of the Dreaming City each week and uncover the secrets left behind by Riven.
- Protect the Nest: Retrieve the lost eggs over the ley lines from Riven’s pen each week to fulfill your part of a dangerous bargain.
- Storm the Watchtower: Enter the dungeon
Ruins of the Warlord
and banish the Scorn and Taken from the wish magic.
Lightfall – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “Ruthless”
- This mission reveals more information about the CloudArk, which the Guardians are meant to discover. Rohan therefore sends you to the network reactor – the infrastructure of Neomuna.
Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City
- Petra Venj can now be found in the Dreaming City right at the spawn point – as always for the 2nd curse week. At the same time, the 6th ascendant challenge is active.
All Sources for Top Loot in Season 23 of Destiny 2
More power level comes automatically: Bungie has relaxed the power level grind in Destiny 2 a long time ago. The hard power cap has remained unchanged at 1,810 for several seasons. Thus, no player is forced to achieve peak performance every week, but automatically levels up the artifact level in all activities. Nonetheless, there are still a few activities in the game where you can benefit from an artifact level up to +20.
If you are currently not at the hard cap of 1,810, we have listed the best sources for top loot for you here.
