In Destiny 2 begins the second week of Nightmare Containment. Players can experience another episode of a separation while Lord Saladin runs the refreshed Iron Banner in the background. Additionally, Guardians can expect more activities to reach the new power cap.
This week: Bungie had already announced before Season 17 that they want to refresh the Iron Banner event. It will now be a big event where Guardians can experience quite a bit in the newly decorated tower. The new spark mode “Rift” is being revived specifically from Destiny 1 so that players can experience a bit of variety in the otherwise familiar Iron Banner mode.
Additionally, the raids with the top loot are rotating again. This time, a well-known Vex raid on the Moon is up. So if you have already completed the new story mission, the Raid “Garden of Salvation” might be a good alternative to pass the time.

Vex Offensive: Nightfall: The Trials
The Nightfall: The Trials is the strike of the week:
- Terminus of Insight, deep in Nessus
- Guardians must fight their way deep into Nessus to take care of a Psion named “Kargen”. He steals data from the Vex network to help the Cabal Legion win. Fight through a horde of Cabal and Vex and take out this thief.
Playlist Strikes have these modifiers:
- Solar Singe
- Heavyweight
- Grounded
- The Singe modifier accompanies you all week; the others change daily.
New Nightfall weapons in Season 17: In the 2nd week of the season, you can pick up the hand cannon.

Endgame: Raid Challenges
This is what happens in the raid “The Oath of the Student”:
- This week in the “Oath of the Student” raid, the “Defense Failed” challenge requires you to kill only one possessed knight with your relic.
- As a reward for the challenge in the third section of the raid on Grandmaster, this week you have a chance to get a master version of the submachine gun “Subjugation” or the fusion rifle “Redemption”. However, keep in mind that hard and normal modes share the loot.
This is what happens in the raid “Glass Chamber”:
- In the Glass Chamber, you can accept the challenge “The Only Oracle for You”. During the encounter, you may only destroy each oracle once. You must rotate during the oracle phases.
- As a reward awaits in the challenge mode the time-lost weapon “Praedyth’s Revenge”. The weapon will then definitely come with 2 perks per slot. Keep in mind, however, that hard and normal modes share the loot.
Weekly Activities
With Season 17, new activities have also come to the game. Explore the Leviathan and face the nightmares or take the scythe and defend yourself against hordes of enemies. Alternatively, you can also explore the new dungeon to farm the weapon exotic “Heartshadow” from it.

This means the power level at the start of new Season 17 has risen by +10 power levels compared to the previous Season 16.
