After today’s update in Destiny 2, players can start the new week with the most popular PvP mode. Lord Saladin returns one last time in Season 19 to the Tower and lets his wolf pups compete against each other in the Iron Banner. MeinMMO also tells you what’s rotating in content in the loot shooter.
Here’s what’s happening this week: Guardians will experience fun battles in the Iron Banner this week with all means to capture a special zone. The entertaining mode “Fortress” is back and invites you to complete the last Iron Banner triumphs in Season 19.
How do you play the Iron Banner mode “Fortress”? In “Fortress”, your goal as a team is to capture and hold zones. The necessary sharpness during the matches comes into play when “Caiatl” interferes in the Iron Banner. Her drop pods send out three turrets, activating a special zone. This gives you more points.
The team that can hold this special zone for as long as possible has a better chance of victory. You can play Fortress until February 7 at 6 PM, finding out how to process a protective Titan bubble into firewood the fastest.
Additionally, you will receive:
- Increased base reputation earned per match
- Increased multiplier for equipping Iron Banner armor or ornaments as well as an equipped Iron Banner emblem
- And a reduced multiplier from Iron Banner challenges
If the Iron Banner doesn’t interest you, we’ll now tell you what else there is to play in Destiny 2 this week.
Destiny 2 today also presented a brand new trailer for the upcoming DLC “Lightfall”, which you can watch here:
Key Information on Activities from January 31 to February 7
Vanguard: Nightfall – The Trial by Fire
- Birthplace of Evil, in the Throne World of Savathûn
- The Nightfall leads into the Throne World of Savathûn. The Witness has granted Heimiks and his scorned minions new power there, and it is up to the Guardians to put an end to it. So head into the Nightfall and meet the challenge with 100,000 points for top loot.
Playlist Strikes are featuring the following modifiers this week:
- Solar Scorch
- Stasis Burn
- Grounded
- The Scorch modifier accompanies you all week; the others change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
Here’s what’s happening in the raid “Kingsfall”:
In the current raid “Kingsfall”, it’s “Hands off” when the last challenge runs:
- In the challenge “Hands off“, players are not allowed to kill the same Ogre and Knight more than once. So you have to think carefully about what you want to kill, as no one in your team can defeat the same Light Eater Ogre and Light Eater Knight more than once.
- This restriction applies for the entire encounter and also includes the two Ogres that spawn during the final battle. Yet despite these restrictions, you must kill both the Ogre and the Knight quickly.
You can expect the following raid requirements and challenges:
- In normal mode, completing a challenge gives you double loot.
- Only in the Grandmaster raid do you receive status-specific armors and Master weapons.
- You can also earn the new raid-exclusive exotic cosmetics in the Oryx look in the Grandmaster.
Additional legacy top rewards from the endgame:
- The Vex say “Hello” and invite you to raid in the “Glass Chamber”.
- Play the 30th Anniversary Dungeon “Sog der Habsucht” for more top loot.
Crucible – This is the rotating PvP activity:
- No radar, all weapons deal more damage – this means Dynamic Control is active again. In this mode, several catalysts can be optimally leveled, and you can also complete a seasonal challenge from week 4.
Playlist Bonus this week:
- The Vanguard is feeling generous this week and grants you a bonus on Vanguard ranks.
- Additionally, Bungie has announced that the reputation in the Gambit mode of Destiny 2 has been significantly increased until the end of the current Season 19. So you will be able to earn more reputation rank there as well, and this will last until February 28, at the start of Lightfall.
Weekly Activities
Here are the key activities of this week:
Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “The Ghosts”
- The Guardians have discovered traces of a Ghost pointing to Sagira. Can the dead Ghost of Osiris help unravel the mystery surrounding Savathun? But to reveal the memory, you must first find him.
Astral Challenge – Dreaming City
If you still need triumphs from the Dreaming City, then pay attention. The second stage of corruption reveals new access points with a sip of “Queen’s Leaf Tincture”.
- Petra Venj has this week the 3rd Ascendant Challenge for you. You can find Petra and her quest offering at the location “Divalian Mists” in the Dreaming City. The City of the Awoken enters the second stage of corruption.
