Yo-ho-ho! The first week of Season 18 in Destiny 2 is over and the Guardians have begun to recruit Eliksni pirates for their crew. While the Drifter indulges in old habits at his new bar, the Guardians can collect another relic this week. MeinMMO will give you an update on the new weekly challenges first.
This week: After today’s Weekly Reset, the Guardians will embark on a new expedition to another destination in Destiny 2 with their crew. They must find the next relic of the Antiquarian before Eramis snatches it away and takes it to the Darkness and the Witness.
- While the Guardians hunt for treasures, the Drifter enjoys a few bottles of rum in his new bar and grants you a chill bonus on your Gambit rank.
- On Lord Shaxx’s agenda is the return of the still young Rift mode, which you should now test and evaluate in the Crucible.
- And in the Throne World, you can expect “The Lightblade”, so you can show the final boss Alak-Hul that he’s not the only one with Arc 3.0 who can pull off something, while also snagging his top loot.
But beware of the top loot! If you still want to earn top loot, please heed our tip. Currently, deactivating items can slow down your leveling. So don’t walk the plank and keep the following in mind:

Strike: Nightfall – The Fire Trial
- The Lightblade, in Savathun’s Throne World
The players will fight against the “Lightblade” in the Nightfall strike this week. He is considered a potential successor to Oryx and can put down a serious speed when enraged. Defeat him before he uses the Light for nefarious purposes.
This week’s Nightfall weapon: As a reward for your run, you will always receive a special Nightfall weapon. And in Season 18, Bungie has hidden a few really great treasures here.
- This week you will receive the shotgun “The Mindbender’s Ambition”.
You will be able to earn the Master version (Adept) starting from October 4. Because that’s when the “Grandmaster” difficulty will begin.
Playlist Strikes have the following modifiers this week:
- Solar Singe
- Stasis Burn
- Grounded
- The Singe modifier will accompany you all week; the others will change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
This is happening in the raid “The Oryx’s Curse“:
- This week, master the simplest challenge in the final encounter of the “Oryx’s Curse” raid with the name “Catalyst for Loops”. To complete the challenge, your team must maintain at least one stack of the buff “Sucking Power” before the damage phase on Rhulk.
- As a reward for the challenge in the final section of the Grandmaster raid, there’s a chance this week for a Master version of the glaive “Lubrae’s Ruin”, the pulse rifle “Devious” or the grenade launcher “Afterthought”. However, keep in mind that Hard and Normal modes share the loot.
You also earn additional top rewards from the endgame:
- In the Vex raid “Garden of Salvation” on the Moon.
- And in the dungeon “Pit of Heresy” also on the Moon.
Weekly Activities
With Season 18, new activities have also entered the game, allowing the Guardians to become pirates.
- Ketch Crash: Dive into this new 6-player activity for ship-to-ship battles to stop Eramis and her pirate crew from plunging the galaxy into chaos.
- Expedition: Assemble treasure maps, search for treasures, and return to your ship while fending off enemy pirate crews.
- Pirate Hideouts: Fight through weekly missions and seize powerful relics hidden in the hideouts of the pirate lords.
Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly campaign mission.
- “The Trick”
- In the Witch Queen campaign mission, you search the dark corners of Savathun’s Throne World for another hint on how she stole the Light, following a tip from Fynch.

Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City
- Petra Venj is located at the top of the pavilion in the area “The Shore” in the Dreaming City. The curse cycle is restarting, and Curse Week 1 is active. Additionally, the 5th Ascendant Challenge is active.

This is the new max level: In the new season of the raiders, the maximum power level of your gear is 1,580. Thus, the power level at the start of the new Season 18 has increased by +10 compared to the previous Season 17. All players start with the base power level of 1,350.
How to get free loot: For all new and old Guardians who want to play in the future or after a break, Bungie has prepared “The Gift of the Thunder Gods” in Season 18.
You can pick up this loot chest for free in the H.E.L.M. after completing the “New Light” campaign. It will bring you up to a power level of 1540 or more – with Arc armor and weapons, as well as two exotic and ten legendary items. You can also collect the rewards once for all your characters.
This top loot (Pinnacle Gear) brings your power level up to 1,580:
- Top Raid “King’s Fall” (+2)
- Top Dungeon “Duality” (+2)
- Raid rotation this week: “Garden of Salvation” (+2)

- Complete the activity “Preservation” in the Darkness pyramid raid (+2)
- “Eternity Trials”: Score at least 250,000 points or more (+2)
- Defeat Powerful Cabal in the exotic mission “Vox Obscura” (+2)
- Seasonal activity “The Astral Seas” on Grandmaster difficulty (+1)
- Complete 3 Gambit matches (+1)
- Complete 3 Crucible matches (+1)
- Complete 3 Vanguard Operation strikes with appropriate focus (+1)
