For the Guardians in Destiny 2, today marks the start of the new Season 18, which Bungie has just unveiled a few minutes ago. There will be brand new story content, a legendary raid from Destiny 1 called “King’s Fall,” and plenty of fresh loot. This Week’s Events: Since this evening, Guardians have been able to explore the contents of the new Season 18. Bungie has already revealed some details in its big showcase about what players can expect.
- Guardians can finally enhance themselves with Arc 3.0 abilities and harness the power of lightning.
- New weapons and activities will be available in the Season of Plunder to grind.
- The new artifact wants to be leveled and contains the new seasonal exotic “Delicate Tomb,” an exotic fusion rifle.
- And already this weekend, on August 26, the all-new free legacy raid from Destiny 1 “King’s Fall” will begin.

Strike: Nightfall – The Trial by Fire
The Nightfall: The Trial by Fire is the strike of the week:
- The Glassway, on Jupiter’s moon Europa
Elsie Bray requests the Guardians’ help to stop the Vex’s advance on Europa. Gear up and defeat the Transcendent Mind once again in the Nightfall.
This week’s Nightfall weapon: As a reward, you will receive a special Nightfall weapon.
- This week, you will receive the hand cannon “T.V.O.” as the Nightfall weapon.
The Master version (Adept) will be available starting October 4. That’s when the “Grandmaster” difficulty kicks in.
Playlist Strikes have these modifiers:
- Void Singe
- Stasis Burn
- Grounded
- The singe modifier will accompany you all week, while the others change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
What’s happening in the latest raid “The Oryx Challenge“:
- This week in the raid “Oryx Challenge,” the “Defense Down Challenge” is live. This raid challenge requires you to kill only one Bound Knight with your relic.
- As a reward for the challenge in the third section of the raid on Grandmaster, this week you have the chance to get a Master version of the submachine gun “Subjugation” or the fusion rifle “Redemption”. But keep in mind, that Hard and Normal modes share the loot.
Additional pinnacle rewards from the endgame include:
- In the raid “Last Wish” in the Dreaming City.
- As well as in the dungeon “The Shattered Throne” in the Dreaming City.
Weekly Activities
With Season 18, new activities have also been introduced, turning the Guardians into pirates.
- Ketch Crash: Dive into this new 6-player activity in ship-to-ship battles to stop Eramis and her pirate crew from plunging the galaxy into chaos.
- Expedition: Assemble treasure maps, search for treasures, and return to your ship while fending off enemy pirate crews.
- Pirate Hideouts: Fight through weekly missions and loot powerful relics hidden in the pirate lords’ hideouts.

Head to the pyramid on Europa, where Caiatl’s Cabal are already waiting for you. The Light has made you forget, and now the Vanguard wants to use the Darkness to uncover old memories.

Sources for Pinnacle Loot in Season 18 of Destiny 2
This is the new max level: In the new Season of Plunder, the maximum power level of your gear is 1,580. This means the power level at the start of the new Season 18 has increased by +10 compared to the previous Season 17. All players will receive a base power level of 1,350.
If you want to level up quickly, you can also play the Legendary campaign of the Witch Queen expansion and upon completion reach 1,530, as well as obtain a new exotic.

Glimmer Highlights in the Eververse
The new Season 18 will also be interesting for ambitious cosmetic hunters, as many new items are coming to Tess in her Eververse shop.
