In Destiny 2, players can plunge into the harder difficulty level of the King’s Fall raid after today’s weekly reset. Not only are there new exotic rewards waiting for you, but also double loot for the encounter where the challenge is active. MeinMMO also tells you what else is happening.
This week: This week in Destiny 2, everything revolves around the endgame. For every Guardian who loves a challenge, the endgame content begins in the King’s Fall raid. So you can start the raid on the “Grandmaster” difficulty starting tonight.
In the endgame content of the Nightfall strike, there’s a tricky battle awaiting you with an old acquaintance in his “Arc Arena.”
PvP players who prefer to take on the “Trials of Osiris” can look forward to a bonus this weekend. The 14th Saint offers an increase to your rank and that in Freelance.

Nighthawk: Nightfall – The Fire Trial
The Nightfall: The Fire Trial is the strike:
- Exodus Crash, on Nessus
- The Fallen have chased the Vanguard to Nessus and damaged the Exodus Black and Failsafe, their AI. Zavala sends you on “Operation Piccolo” to eliminate Thaviks, the fallen marauder from the House of Dusk. However, he won’t make it easy for you, as it crackles with Arc in his small arena and he knows no mercy.
This is the Nightfall weapon of this week: As a reward for your run, you’ll always receive a special Nightfall weapon. In Season 18, Bungie has some good, old options to offer.
- This week, you can once again expect the former exclusive pulse rifle “Des Horrors Mindeste”.
You will be able to earn the adept version of the Nightfall weapons starting October 4th. That’s when the hardest PvE difficulty in Destiny 2 named “Grandmaster” starts.
Playlist strikes have the following modifiers this week:
- Empty Ignite
- Stasis Burn
- Iron
- The igniting modifier will accompany you all week, while the others change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
This is happening in the raid “King’s Fall”:
With the weekly reset, the challenge mode for “King’s Fall” starts for the first time. Oryx and “his family team” will thus be harder to take down for all Guardians from today, September 20, 2022, due to the Grandmaster difficulty level. If you want, you can also complete the challenges.
- In normal mode, completing a challenge gives you double loot.
- The requirement for the Grandmaster is a power level of 1600 for each encounter.
- You can only get status-specific armor and master weapons from the Grandmaster raid.
- And you can also earn the new raid-exclusive exotics in the Oryx look.
Additional pinnacle rewards from the endgame you can get:
- In the Witch Queen raid “Oath of the Student” in Savathun’s Throne World.
- As well as in the dungeon “The Broken Throne”.
Weekly Activities
With Season 18, more activities have come to Destiny 2 that transform the Guardians into pirates with their own crew and make them solve cryptic four-liners.
- Catch Crash: Dive into ship-to-ship battles in this new 6-player activity to stop Eramis and her pirate gang from plunging the galaxy into chaos.
- Expedition: Assemble treasure maps, search for treasures, and return to your ship while fending off enemy pirate crews.
- Pirate Hideouts: Fight your way through weekly missions and loot powerful relics hidden in the hideouts of the pirate lords.
Additionally, the content of the current DLC “The Witch Queen” is still active and can be played. For example, in the weekly repeatable campaign mission.
Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “The Arrival”
- This week you can play the first campaign mission on Grandmaster difficulty. You will infiltrate a Cabal base on Mars and then boldly investigate Savathun’s ship for clues about the Light.

Here you get a bonus this week:
- The Trials of Osiris will have a bonus for all players this week in the PvP endgame. Thus, from September 23 to 27, you will receive a bonus on your reputation rank with the 14th Saint. And you can also collect it in Freelance mode, that is, with active player search.
Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City
- Petra Venj has this week’s 2nd Ascendant Challenge for you. You can find Petra and her quest offering at “The Shore” in the Dreaming City. Savathun also has her fingers in the pie here, as the curse begins to reclaim the holy city of the Awoken at level 1.
Sources for Pinnacle Loot in Season 18 of Destiny 2
This is the new max level: In the new season of the Looters, the maximum power level of your equipment is 1,580. Thus, the power level at the start of the new season 18 has increased by +10 compared to the previous season 17. All players receive the base power level of 1,350.
This is how you get free loot: For all new and old Guardians who want to join in the future or after a break, Bungie has prepared “The Gift of the Thunder Gods” in Season 18.
You can pick up this loot chest for free in the H.E.L.M. after completing the “New Light” campaign. It brings you to a power level of up to 1540 or more – with Arc armor and weapons, as well as two exotics and ten legendary items. You can also collect the rewards once for all your characters.

Shimmering Highlights in the Eververse
In the Eververse, you can secure a glowing hot ghost shell this week. The “Hearth Fire” will heat your ghost for 2580 Shimmering Dust.
If you’re not into that, you can of course spend your Shimmering Dust, the in-game currency you earn, on other things.
