For all Guardians of Destiny 2 who love to showcase their skills in the tough endgame PvP, Trials, the Trials of Osiris, are returning at the 14th Saint this week. But first, the weekly reset brings you a new update on the current story. MeinMMO tells you what you can play this week.

This week: As always, Guardians can expect a new chapter in the seasonal story of Destiny 2 in Season 18. Guardians are particularly curious about the dark secrets that Mithrax, one of the main characters in Season 18, hides. He currently struggles to reconcile the looter he once was with the leader he is now.
Perhaps also because he doesn’t want his daughter to think poorly of him. And it looks like Eramis, the thawed pirate bride from the “Beyond Light” DLC, could significantly disrupt his plans.
Besides the story, players can also increase their power level again by completing challenges. By the end of the week, the Trials of Osiris will join the regular pinnacle loot activities.
After several weeks of absence, the PvE endgame returns, luring the elite through sweaty matches to flawless loot on the prestigious Lighthouse. Additionally, the Vanguard grants double points for your reputation rank.

Vanguard: Nightfall – The Trial by Fire
The Nightfall: The Trial by Fire is the strike:
- “Fallen from Grace”, in the Cosmodrome
- Navôta, the witch and successor of Omnigul, is responsible for the fireteam of Shaw Han, Cas, and Maeve. Rob them of their leader in the Cosmodrome and take revenge – also in Shawn’s name.
This is the Nightfall weapon of the week: As a reward for your run, you will always receive a special Nightfall weapon. In Season 18, Bungie has provided you with some good old options.
- This week you will receive the grenade launcher “Sledgehammer.”
The Master version (Adept) of the Nightfall weapons will be available to unlock starting October 4th. That’s when the hardest PvE difficulty in Destiny 2 called “Grandmaster” begins.
Playlist Strikes have the following modifiers this week:
- Solar Scorch
- Stasis Burn
- Grounded
- The Scorch modifier lasts the entire week, while the others change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
This is happening in the raid “The Oath of the Student“
- In the “Oath of the Student” raid, you should survive the challenge “Basic Information” this week. If you have collected a symbol for the Obelisk, you must not exceed the buff “Increased Knowledge”.
- As a reward for the challenge in the raid encounter of the “Carer” on Grandmaster, this week awaits the chance to receive a Master version of the submachine gun “Subjugation,” the grenade launcher “Sighted,” the linear fusion rifle “Catastrophic,” or the pulse rifle “Insidious.” But keep in mind that hard and normal modes share the loot.
Additional pinnacle rewards from the endgame you can get:
- In the Vex raid “Glass Chamber” on Venus
- As well as in the dungeon “Siphon of Avarice”
Weekly Activities
With Season 18, new activities have come to Destiny 2, turning the Guardians into pirates with their own crew and letting them puzzle over cryptic four-liners.
- Skiff Crash: Dive into this new 6-player activity for ship-to-ship battles, to prevent Eramis and her pirate gang from plunging the galaxy into chaos.
- Expedition: Assemble treasure maps, search for treasures, and return to your ship while fending off enemy pirate crews.
- Pirate Hideouts: Battle through weekly missions and loot powerful relics hidden in the hideouts of the pirate lords.
In addition, the contents of the current DLC “The Witch Queen” are still active and can be played. For example, in the weekly repeatable campaign mission.
Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “The Ritual” – Repeatable Witch Queen campaign mission
- You must linger in the Throne World on behalf of the Vanguard, for Savathun has brought the Traveler there. While you try to free him, you must “play games” with her to reveal the betrayal to the Witch Queen and the last memory of her Worm Ancestor. - Petra Venj is now found in the Dreaming City right at Rheasilvia – as always during the 3rd Curse Week. At the same time, the 1st Ascendant Challenge is active.
Sources for Pinnacle loot in Season 18 of Destiny 2
This is the new max level: In the new season of the Looters, the maximum power level of your gear is 1,580. This raises the power level at the start of the new Season 18 by +10 compared to the previous Season 17. All players receive the base power level of 1,350.
This is how you get free loot: For all new and old Guardians who want to play along in the future or after a break, Bungie has prepared “The Gift of the Thunder Gods” in Season 18.
You can pick up this loot chest for free in the H.E.L.M. after completing the “New Light” campaign. It will bring you up to a power level of 1540 or more – with Arc gear and weapons, as well as two exotics and ten legendary items. The rewards can also be claimed once for all your characters.

In the Eververse, you can secure a Sparrow from the Season of the Haunted this week named “Ignited Wanderer.”
