At 7 PM, Destiny 2 rolls out its Weekly Reset, which is simultaneously a small special occasion. On September 6, 2017, the servers of the loot shooter and successor to Destiny 1 were activated for the first time. Since then, Guardians have populated the worlds of Destiny 2. MeinMMO tells you where you can make trouble again this week and what is on offer.
Destiny 2 probably won’t celebrate its birthday grandly in-game today. Bungie continues to hit its milestones and welcomes new Guardians to the Cosmodrome daily. The last expansion “The Witch Queen” already had over 1 million pre-orders. The upcoming DLC “Lightfall” is on track to surpass that. It has topped the Steam sales charts since its release. The years have still changed Destiny 2. Destiny 1 had fantastic content. But the overall upgrades of Destiny 2 with class abilities, customization, and quality of life are simply better. Both the visuals and the engine have been significantly polished by Bungie. However, the developer is also preparing the beginning of the end and the start of a great Destiny universe.
This week: For the Guardians, it is initially into the Iron Banner this week. Valus Forge, formerly Lord Saladin Forge, is on the verge of an outbreak. Bungie calls the new PvP mode in Season 18 which you can try out tonight as a deadly wolf pack in the Iron Banner.
In the free dungeon “Prophecy,” players can also earn some top gear. Where else to find it, we will tell you now.

Strike: Nightfall – The Crucible
- Fallen S.A.B.E.R., in the Cosmodrome
- You must once again prevent the devils from gaining control of Rasputin’s war satellites this week. If that were to happen, guns from the Golden Age would be aimed at the Tower and the Last City within minutes.
This is the Nightfall weapon of the week: As a reward for your run, you will always receive a special Nightfall weapon. In Season 18, Bungie has some good options.
- This week, the auto rifle “Duty Bound” drops for you.
The master version (Adept) will be available from October 4. Because then the “Grandmaster” difficulty level begins.
Playlist Strikes have the following modifiers this week:
- Arc Burn
- Stasis Burn
- Blackout
- The burn modifier follows you throughout the week, while the others change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
What happens in the Raid “The Oath of the Student“:
- In the “Oath of the Student” raid, the challenge “Rapid Destruction” begins. To complete it, players must defeat all unstoppable champions at once or within a few seconds.
- As a reward for the challenge in the first section of the raid on Grandmaster difficulty, this week there is a chance for a master version of the submachine gun “Suppression,” the fusion rifle “Redemption,” or the linear fusion rifle “Catastrophic.”
Additional top rewards from the endgame are available:
- in the Braytech raid “Deep Stone Crypt” on the ice moon Europa.
- As well as in the dungeon “Prophecy” which is accessible for all players for free via the Tower.
Weekly Activities
With Season 18, new activities have come to Destiny 2, turning Guardians into pirates with their own crew and letting them solve cryptic quatrains.
- Ketch Crash: Dive into this new 6-player activity for ship-to-ship battles to stop Eramis and her pirate crew from plunging the galaxy into chaos.
- Expedition: Assemble treasure maps, search for treasures, and return to your ship while fending off hostile pirate crews.
- Pirate Hideouts: Fight through weekly missions and loot powerful relics hidden in the hideouts of the pirate lords.
In addition, the content of the current DLC “The Witch Queen” is still active and can be played. For example, in the weekly repeatable campaign mission.
Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “The Last Chance”
- This week you can play the seventh campaign mission of Witch Queen as a repeatable story mission. It is about following Eris’ trusted source, who informs you about an artifact in the Throne World that might contain the answer to how Savathun gained the light.

Sources for top loot in Season 18 of Destiny 2
This is the new max level: In the new season of the Looters, the maximum power level of your gear is 1,580. This means the power level at the start of the new Season 18 has increased by +10 compared to the previous Season 17. All players receive the base power level of 1,350.
How to get free loot: For all new and returning Guardians who want to play along in the future or after a break, Bungie has prepared “The Gift of the Thunder Gods” in Season 18.
You can pick up this loot crate for free in the H.E.L.M. after completing the “New Light” campaign. It brings you to a power level of up to 1540 or more – with Arc gear and weapons, as well as two exotic and ten legendary items. You can also claim the rewards for all your characters once.

In the Eververse, you can get bitten by a little poisonous snake this week and buy the digitally snake-skinned weapon ornament “Snake Bite” for the exotic submachine gun “Huckleberry.”
