The last week of Season 16 in Destiny 2 starts today. This means the last opportunity to complete a few seasonal activities. Among them the golden Strike title for Conquerors, the Guardian Games items or the weapon, as well as the ornaments of the seasonal shotgun “Ruthless Threat.” We tell you what is active this week.
This week: The new Season 17 (name still unknown) begins on May 24, 2022. This means you can only use this week in the Season of the Resurrected to complete certain content. Additionally, this is also the last week of the Guardian Games event, where you fight for your class. The Warlocks currently dominate the leaderboard and have earned a good shot at the winner’s trophy.
In PvP, Lord Saladin will be replaced by the 14th Holy at the end of the week, as the Trials are active again from Friday. However, there is currently a lot of distrust in the Crucible, as hardware cheats are making the mode unfair and could also ruin the revamped Iron Banner in Season 17.

Vanguard: Nightfall: The Crucible
The Nightfall: The Crucible is this week’s Strike:
- The Scarlet Fortress, on the Moon
- Hashladun, daughter of Crota, designed the red Scorn bastion to harness the energies of the pyramid buried in the abyss below. You are to drive her out of her refuge in the strike and thin out the progeny of Oryx.
Playlist strikes have these modifiers:
- Void Singe
- Heavyweight
- Blackout
- The Singe modifier accompanies you all week, while the others change daily.
These weapons are obtainable from Nightfalls: Each week, players can earn specific weapons from the Nightfall strikes. The current loot pool now contains six weapons in rotation. After last week’s automatic rifle was available for duty-bound, these weapons will be available before the loot changes in the new Season 17.

Grandmaster Nightfalls: To start in the cream of the crop of Strikes, the Grandmaster Nightfall, through the Vanguard, you need a power level of 1,575. You will also be fighting in a competitive mode. This means you will be 25 power levels below the Grandmaster power level of 1,600, so you will need to proceed tactically and cohesively with your team. Additionally, the Nightfall weapon will drop as a master version, that is, Adept.
Endgame: Raid Challenges
What’s happening in the raid “The Student’s Oath”:
- In the raid of the “Student’s Oath”, the challenge “Quick Destruction” starts. To complete it, players must defeat all unstoppable champions simultaneously or within a few seconds.
- As a reward for the challenge in the first section of the Grandmaster raid, this week there is a chance for a master version of the submachine gun “Suppression”, the fusion rifle “Redemption” or the linear fusion rifle “Catastrophic”.
What’s happening in the raid “Vault of Glass”:
- In the Vault of Glass, the Templar Challenge called “Strangers in Time” takes place. Note that you must defeat the Minotaurs in various timelines on Mars and Venus simultaneously with the Wyverns.
- As a reward in the raid’s challenge mode, a time-warped weapon waits. This week it is the rocket launcher “Heze’s Revenge.” The weapon also comes with guaranteed 2 perks per slot. But always remember that hard and normal modes share the loot.

- This week you can play the first campaign mission at Grandmaster difficulty. You infiltrate a Cabal base on Mars and then bravely investigate Savathun’s ship for clues about the Light.

This is the new max-level: In the new Season of the Resurrected, your gear’s maximum power level is 1,560. Thus, the power level at the start of the DLC has risen by +230 power levels compared to the previous Season 15. However, all players will also be raised to a base power level of 1,350 at the start, and there are many sources to level up quickly.
Anyone who wants to quickly reach 1,520 power level only needs to complete the Legendary Campaign. One of the new Witch Queen exotics you’ll also receive as a gift upon completion.
