Destiny 2 refreshes your sources for top loot on today’s reset day. This week also marks the start of the toughest challenge for PvE players – the Grandmaster Nightfall. MeinMMO provides you with all the important information for the new week.
This is happening this week: Today marks the start of the Grandmaster Nightfalls, the most challenging PvE content in Destiny 2, back in the mix.
What is a “Grandmaster Nightfall”? This difficulty level is a particularly tough variant of the six Nightfall strikes from the current Season 18. Bungie doesn’t mess around when it comes to the fight for the title “Conqueror”.
No PvE challenge is harder in Destiny 2: At the “Grandmaster” Nightfall difficulty, the strongest enemies await with a huge amount of health and resistant shields. On top of that, there are over 10 negative modifiers that will test your skill, your fireteam, and your armor. In this mode, no one can rely on their high power level, as the Grandmaster Nightfall is played in a competitive mode.
Requirements for Grandmaster Nightfalls:
First, you need a minimum power level of 1595 to even start the activity. Those who already have a significantly higher power level cannot use that in this mode.
In Season 18, the power level requirement for Grandmasters is 1,620, and due to the competitive mode, every player is strictly limited to 1,595 power level. A downside that presents a considerable challenge, as you can be one-shot by almost everything, and cover is essential.
In Season 18, the following Grandmaster strikes are available. Completing all of them earns you the title “Conqueror” and belongs to the most experienced players in Destiny 2.
- Glassway, on the icy moon Europa
- The Light Blade, Savathun’s Throne World
- Fallen S.A.B.E.R – Cosmodrome, Earth
- Fallen from Grace – Cosmodrome, Earth
- Exodus Crash – Nessus
- The Devil’s Lair – Cosmodrome, Earth
Here’s how you can start the Grandmaster Nightfall and earn the title:

Strike: Nightfall – The Crucible
The Nightfall: The Crucible is the strike:
- The Glassway, on the moon Europa
- Elsie Bray requests the Guardians’ help to stop the Vex from advancing on Europa. Get ready and defeat the Transcendent Mind again in the Nightfall.
This is the Nightfall weapon of the week: As a reward for your run, you will always receive a special Nightfall weapon. In Season 18, Bungie offers some good old options.
- This week, you can earn the kinetic hand cannon T.V.O.
The adept version of the Nightfall weapon can be earned today on “Grandmaster” difficulty.
Playlist strikes have the following modifiers this week:
- Arc Burn
- Grenadier
- Grounded
- The burn modifier accompanies you all week, while the others change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
What’s happening in the raid “Kingsfall”:
Last week started the second challenge in the Kingsfall Raid “Sneaky Theft”. In week three, however, expect a new challenge called “Surprised Look” against the Shriekers.
- In the “Surprised Look” challenge, players must stand in one of the reclaimed Light pools during the fight against the ogre Golgoroth when switching the buff “Golgoroth’s Look”.
Those wanting progress toward the Triumph seal must also complete the challenge on Grandmaster difficulty to receive the Sparrow “Ossein-Debris”.
Here are the requirements and challenges you can expect:
- In normal mode, completing a challenge brings you double loot.
- The requirement for each encounter for Grandmasters is a power level of 1600 with champions.
- Only from Grandmaster raid do you get status-specific gear and master weapons.
- You can earn new raid-exclusive exotics in the Oryx look in the Grandmaster as well.
Additionally, you can earn:
- In the raid “Garden of Salvation” on the Moon
- As well as in the Legacy Dungeon “Prophecy” while seeking the secret of darkness

Weekly Activities
With Season 18, new activities have arrived in Destiny 2 that turn Guardians into pirates with their own crew and let them solve cryptic quatrains.
- Ketch Crash: Dive into ship-to-ship battles in this new 6-player activity to prevent Eramis and her pirate gang from throwing the galaxy into chaos.
- Expedition: Assemble treasure maps, seek treasures, and return to your ship while fending off enemy pirate crews.
- Pirate Hideouts: Fight through weekly missions and seize powerful relics hidden in the lairs of pirate lords. This week it’s the “Antiquarian VI”.
Additionally, the content of the current DLC “The Witch Queen” is still active and can be played. For example, in the weekly repeatable campaign mission.
Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “The Communion”
- You journey to the Pyramid on Europa, where Caiatl’s Cabal are already waiting for you. The Light has made you forget, and now the Vanguard wants to use the Darkness to uncover old memories.
Crucible – Here are the PvP playlists:
This week, Bungie will experiment again with the Crucible. Therefore, you can expect the labs with the mode “Zone Control”.

Here you will receive a bonus this week:
- At the start of the toughest PvE activity, Commander Zavala is generous and grants his Guardians bonus Nightfall rewards. Don’t miss out, as there is a chance that you not only get double Exotics there, but also an increased drop rate of Ascendant Shards, Enhancement Prisms, and Cores.
Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City
- Petra Venj can be found in the Rheasilvia area in the Dreaming City. The whole zone has a 3rd curse week. The 4th Ascendant Challenge needs to be mastered.
Sources for top loot in Season 18 of Destiny 2
This is the new max level: In the new season of the Looters, the maximum power level of your gear is 1,580. This means the power level at the start of the new Season 18 has increased by +10 compared to the previous Season 17. All players receive the base power level of 1,350.
Here’s how to get free loot: For all new and old Guardians who want to play in the future or after a break, Bungie has prepared “The Gift of the Thunder Gods” in Season 18.
You can pick up this loot box for free in the H.E.L.M. after completing the campaign “New Light”. It raises you to a power level of up to 1540 or more – with Arc gear and weapons, as well as two Exotics and ten Legendary items. The rewards can also be picked up once for all your characters.
This top loot brings your power level up to 1,580:
- Top legacy raid “Kingsfall” (+2)
- Top dungeon “Duality” (+2)
