In this week of Destiny 2, the ashes of the Silver Branches are swirling through the European air zone one last time. The Solstice is about to end soon. But before that happens, you can enjoy the event and other activities after today’s Weekly Reset. MyMMO tells you exactly what you can play.
This is happening this week: If you haven’t lit up all your armor pieces yet, you should hurry, because today marks the start of the last week of the Solstice event. Many players have already discovered that the effort can also be worthwhile beyond this event. It has never been easier to get armor with high and, most importantly, fitting stats.
This week’s Nightfall offers you a decreasing difficulty and a bonus. The least popular Strike among players is out after the Weekly Reset and this week you have the option to select the much more relaxed Nightfall Strike “The Twisted Needle.” The short Strike is perfect for farming and earning Ascendant Shards.
Before we start, just a reminder that as always, there will be a downtime of the Destiny 2 servers before the Weekly Reset.

Vanguard: Nightfall – The Trial by Fire
The Nightfall: The Trial by Fire is this week’s Strike:
- The Twisted Needle, on Nessus
The Cabal Legion has begun drilling in “The Twisted Needle,” hoping to study and weaponize Protheon, the Vex Mind. But the Vex reacted violently, causing the eruption of a warzone near the drilling sites. The Vanguard is sending Guardians to destroy Protheon before the Cabal Legion can capture the Vex Mind.
This is the Nightfall weapon of the week: The Strike boss, Protheon, will drop a special Nightfall weapon as always, which you will also receive in the “Grandmaster” difficulty as a Master version.
- This week, you can expect the Arc Rocket Launcher “Heatseeker.”
Playlist Strikes have these modifiers:
- Arc Singe
- Frenzy
- Iron
- The Singe modifier accompanies you all week, while the others change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
This is happening in the latest raid “The Oath of the Student“:
- This week, master the easiest challenge in the last encounter of the raid “Oath of the Student” called “Loop Catalyst”. To complete the challenge, your team must maintain at least one stack of the buff “Siphoning Power” before the damage phase on Rhulk.
- As a reward for the challenge in the final section of the raid at Grandmaster, this week the chance for a Master version of the Glaive “Lubraes Ruin,” the Pulse Rifle “Devious,” or the Grenade Launcher “Aftercare” awaits. However, keep in mind that Hard and Normal mode share the loot.
Additional pinnacle rewards from the endgame are:
- In the Beyond-Light raid “The Deep Stone Crypt” on Europa.
- As well as in the dungeon “Prophecy” – accessible via the Tower Navigator.
Weekly Activities
With Season 17, additional activities have entered the game. Explore the Leviathan and face the Nightmares or surprising boss enemies in the new patrol zone. Use the Solar Sense and defend yourself in the Nightmare Containment. Additionally, these weekly activities await you:
Savathun’s Throne World – Weekly Campaign Mission
- “The Ritual” – Repeatable Witch Queen campaign mission
- You are to hurry to the Throne World on behalf of the Vanguard, as Savathun has brought the Traveler there. While trying to free it, you must “play games” with her to reveal the betrayal and the last memory of her Worm Ancestor to the Witch Queen. Whether this was also part of her plan, you’ll have to decide for yourself in the end.

- Glory Survival: Freelance
- Dynamic Control – The mode where the radar is disabled but your weapons deal more damage.
Ascendant Challenge – Dreaming City
- Petra Venj can now be found in the Dreaming City right at Rheasilvia – as always for the 3rd Curse Week. At the same time, the 1st Ascendant Challenge is active.
Sources for Pinnacle Loot in Season 17 of Destiny 2
This is the new max level: In the new season of the Haunted, the maximum power level of your gear is 1.570. This means the power level at the start of the new Season 17 has increased by +10 power levels compared to the previous Season 16. All players have also been raised to the base power level of 1.350.
If you want to level up quickly, you can also play the Legendary campaign of the Witch Queen expansion and reach up to 1.530 upon completion and get a new Exotic.
