Hardly has Destiny 2 swept away its Space Grandma Eva Levante and thus the winter event from the Tower, Lord Saladin is already taking her place. Players can expect a new PvP mode called “Fortress” right after the reset today, and even more. MeinMMO tells you what the week has to offer.
This is happening this week: The festive days are over and Destiny 2 is gearing up again for the combat training preparations of its Guardians. Lord Saladin is returning to the Tower this evening and has brought with him the PvP mode “Fortress” together with his new boss “Caiatl”. In Season 19, you have the chance to earn the Iron Lord’s seal, get a new armor set, as well as two new weapons and pinnacle gear.
What exactly is the new Iron Banner mode? In “Fortress,” your goal as a team is to capture and hold zones. If that sounds familiar to you like the well-known mode “Zone Control,” then you are right. However, the necessary sharpness within the matches is supposed to come to the Iron Banner through “Caiatl.” It seems she has stationed a few Cabal turrets on the map. The objectives will change as soon as “Caiatl” and her troops are involved. You can play the new mode in the Iron Banner until January 10 at 6 PM.

Vanguard: Nightfall – The Fire Trial
- Mirror Corridor, on the Jupiter moon Europa
- Elsie Bray asks the Guardians for help to stop the Vex’s advance on Europa. Prepare yourselves and defeat the Transcendent Spirit “Belmon” again in the Nightfall.
Playlist strikes have the following modifiers this week:
- Solar Ignition
- Grenadier
- Grounded
- The Ignition modifier will accompany you all week, while the others change daily.
Endgame: Raid Challenges and Dungeon Rotation
What’s happening in the Raid “King’s Fall”:
In the current raid “King’s Fall,” the grass is getting greener to receive more loot.
- To specifically complete the challenge “The Grass is Always Greener”, you need to switch sides after you’ve taken the buff from one side and submitted your points. This means that if you first gave points on the left side of the totem to the witch, the knight, and then submitted your points, you would move to the right side and do the same procedure there.
Expect the following raid requirements and challenges:
- In Normal mode, completing a challenge gives you double loot.
- You only get status-specific armors and master weapons from the Grandmaster raid.
- You can also earn the new raid-exclusive exotic cosmetics in the Oryx look from the Grandmaster.
Additional Legacy Pinnacle Rewards from the Endgame:
- The Witch Queen Legacy Raid “Oath of the Student” is expected to be active.
- Play the dungeon “Duality” for further pinnacle loot.

- In PvP, the mode “Rumble” returns to the playlists

- Petra Venj stands up at the Pavilion in the area “The Shore” in the Dreaming City. The curse cycle restarts and curse week 1 is active. Also active is the 5th Ascendant Challenge.
