Destiny 2 will run even better on the next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X than initially announced – but only in the Crucible. There, players can look forward to a high frame rate.
This should please many PvP enthusiasts: The new expansion Beyond Light as well as Season 12 have started for Destiny 2. This opens a big new chapter in Bungie’s action MMO.
However, many Destiny players can expect something big in the coming weeks and months – namely the switch to the new consoles Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Many will continue their journey as Guardians on next-gen.
And now there’s some good news again – at least for those who like to play PvP in Destiny 2 as well. Because in the Crucible, Destiny 2 will run even better on the new consoles than previously announced by Bungie.
Destiny 2 on Next-Gen even better than announced – at least in PvP
This has now been announced: During the “Xbox Series X Global Launch” live stream, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons announced the good news together with Xbox head Phil Spencer. During a round of Destiny 2, it was stated that the Crucible, that is the PvP of Destiny 2, will run at 120 on the next-gen consoles.
Even though this happened in an Xbox stream – Bungie has already confirmed that alongside the Xbox Series X, the PS5 will also support 120 FPS in PvP.
By the way, the rest of the game apparently runs as announced at 60 FPS.
Therefore, this is so important for many: On PS4 and Xbox One, Destiny 2 runs at only 30 FPS. And since Destiny 1, at least 60 FPS have been one of the biggest wishes of many players. Upon the launch of Destiny 2, this wish was still unfulfilled, but with next-gen, it is finally being fulfilled – and even better than initially thought.
Because Bungie has already outlined the main data for Destiny 2 on the Xbox Series X as well as on PS5. Until now, it was stated that the game would run at 60 FPS and 4K and have an adjustable FoV. Now it has been added that in the Crucible it will even be 120 FPS – whether in 4K and immediately at the console launch (or only on December 8) is not known, Spencer and Parsons did not go into detail. But more details are expected to follow soon.
What do you think about this? Are you excited about this performance boost in the Crucible or do you not care about such things? By the way, the next-gen upgrade for Destiny 2 will not be available immediately at the launch of the new consoles.
