Strand-Titan – Controls enemies like puppets
Now let’s talk about the Titan. In Lightfall, he is the “hit-taker” among the three classes and goes unrestrained and wild into battles. Thanks to Strand, players can show their claws, tearing targets “out of the weave”. It sounds not only wicked – it really is.
What makes the build special? With this Strand build, the Titan becomes a puppeteer. He uses his barricade or the grenade for that. The build is designed to quickly regain his abilities, allowing him to fight and bind almost indefinitely against opponents.
- This is what “Hovering Leap” can do: When Titans use their barricade “Elegant Whip” with this exotic leg armor, it additionally generates two homing projectiles that aggressively pursue enemies and then bind them. Titans also receive “Woven Armor” as reinforcement.
We have listed everything we currently use in our Titan build. Of course, this can still be adjusted to fit your own playstyle by trying out different grenades as well as other aspects, fragments, or mods.
Our recommendation for this build:
- Super Ability: Berserker > Blade Frenzy
- Grenade: Binding Grenade – A type of bola that can bind enemies.
- Melee: Ecstatic Blade
- Class Ability: Switch Barricade, which is pushed by the Exotic “Hovering Leap”.

The build can be effectively complemented with the following weapons and values:
- Armor Values: For the Titan, we recommend focusing on high resilience and discipline values in your armor.
- Kinetic Weapon: Anything that deals damage over time, like the exotic SMG “Osteo Striga” or the grenade launcher “Withering Collector”. With the mod “Kinetic Weapon Surge”, the weapons in this build deal additional damage, even with their ticks.
- Energy Weapon: For using the strong option “Transient Rounds”, we recommend a Void weapon in the energy slot.
- Weapon Perks: Strand weapons with the perk “Slippery”.

How does the build play? When the Titan charges at enemies, he sets up his barricade first. With the Exotic “Hovering Leap,” the Titan gains two additional homing Strand projectiles that aggressively pursue and then bind enemies.
You can now kill these bound enemies with your weapon, creating a thread. You can shoot this thread, which triggers an explosion, or you can throw it. Shooting it is often more effective.
The reason this build works so well lies in the fragment “Thread of Mind,” which grants you class ability energy when defeating bound targets so that you can start all over again. In between, you can also use your ultimate for tougher enemies.
This build is thus a self-starter regarding maximizing the immobility of your enemies. Titans, like Hunters, can also keep their opponents suspended in the air almost indefinitely.

How to get the Exotics shown in Destiny 2?
If you don’t have the armor Exotics presented here yet, you can obtain them from the following sources:
- “The Sixth Coyote”: You can get this Exo either from Xur, as a random drop in activities and the open world. Or you can try your luck solo in a Lost Sector on “Chest Guard Day”.
- “Necrotic Grip” and “Hovering Leap”: These armor Exotics from the DLCs “Beyond Light” and “Lightfall” can currently only be obtained via the Lost Sectors.
- Please also note: To obtain the Exotics from the Lost Sectors, you must play them on the Legendary difficulty level and also master this activity solo. Once you receive a piece of armor, it can drop for you anywhere thereafter.
Artful armor grants you additional benefits: Also recommended in Season 20 is to acquire the “Artful Armor” for your builds. This allows you to always have one more slot. However, it’s not that easy to get pieces with good distribution. This can take a while.
