In Destiny 2, Not Forgotten and Luna’s Howl should have long been a thing of the past, but the two weapons refuse to simply retire. They defy their nerfs and dance on Bungie’s nose.
These two cult weapons should retire: With Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the weapons retirement, the sunsetting, has hit the loot shooter hard. Retirement also doesn’t spare the erstwhile terrors of the sandbox: “Not Forgotten” and “Luna’s Howl“.
However, they somehow refuse to retire and shamelessly ignore Bungie’s nerfs.
Players are very pleased with this rebellion, as there is a lot of heart and soul in both revolvers. They now compare both guns to rugged veterans who cannot simply be chased off the field.
This “injustice” happened to the cult weapons: The story of the guns reads like the books of mourning. Once they were shining heroes that dominated in PvP and PvE. But the guns became excessive in the hands of the Guardians and Not Forgotten (NF) as well as Luna’s Howl were punished with nerfs from the landlord Bungie.
- The massive bonus damage from the special perk “Majestic Howl” is gone
- The fire rate has been reduced from a fast 180 to 150, now in Beyond Light to 140
- In endgame activities, both revolvers no longer play a role, they cannot be brought to the current power level
In premature retirement but Not Forgotten
This is now the revenge: But the hand cannons simply do not adhere to the new rules. Well, they humbly adhere to those with retirement. But the two retirees show that they are far from being old news.
They deal out as hard as they did 2 years ago. Just like back in Forsaken when they were still fresh and full of vigor.
- Instead of having the damage corresponding to their fire rate of 70, seemingly randomly higher numbers like 76 appear.
- Sometimes they show low damage, but secretly cause more and enemies simply drop prematurely.
- They also don’t take range seriously: Instead of other hand cannons (with more range) giving up around 35 meters, NF isn’t tired even at 40 meters.
Top weapon for everyone: To complete the revenge on the sandbox, by the way, everyone can now simply buy Not Forgotten at the kiosk. Once the weapon was powerful but quite rare, now all players can take revenge with the retirees.
So dig the veterans out of your collection or get them at the kiosk and give them one last moment in the shining sunlight before Bungie somehow lays them to rest for good.
But be careful, as Stasis is the new PvP nightmare that currently no one can escape.
Why is that? Even though the narrative of the weapon rising from retirement is very amusing, there is likely a bug behind it. When Shadowkeep went live in 2019, there was a similar uprising from Not Forgotten and Luna’s Howl against the sandbox rules.
Bungie, the developer of Destiny, has not yet responded to the retirement refusers. But once the pressing irregularities are resolved, it could soon be time. But first, the raid likely has priority: Stasis destroys raid bosses in seconds – players fear for fairness
