A Guardian has discovered a new glitch in Destiny 2 that Bungie should fix quickly. It’s game-breaking. With this, players can easily squeeze through walls or even knock raid bosses off the map.
What is the glitch about? A user on Reddit is currently drawing attention to a severe glitch in Destiny 2 that Bungie should address. They have “been sitting on it” since the release of Shadowkeep, but now it’s time to get rid of it, according to the Guardian.
We have decided not to provide any instructions or sources about it here, but we will discuss the impact of the glitch on gameplay and demonstrate what is possible with it.
If the glitch quickly gains attention, it can be fixed faster by Bungie.
This is what the glitch is based on: This glitch is based on the new finisher mechanics that arrived with Shadowkeep. With this, players can or should ideally send a weakened enemy to the virtual afterlife with a cool finishing move.
However, this mechanic can be misused under certain conditions, leading to entirely unintentional side effects that can greatly impact gameplay. It is possible to “bookmark” a finisher and then unleash it elsewhere.
This is what the glitch does: The glitch essentially divides into two areas and can only be used by 2 of the 3 Guardian classes.
Once unleashed after bookmarking, it can be used to glitch through walls, allowing access to areas not intended for entry. This has been a tradition in Destiny and is seen by many as less severe.
On the other hand, it can also be used under certain circumstances to take out nearly every enemy in Destiny 2—even raid bosses (which move, so Riven doesn’t count). The bookmarked finisher can then be used not only on regular enemies and those with low health.
For example, raid bosses like the Wrathborn Primus, the boss from the Garden of Salvation raid, can be easily defeated solo or duo with a little practice. This way, players can also cheat to obtain the rare exotic Grenade Launcher Anarchy.
In this video, you can see (without explanation) how a raid boss is easily knocked off the map with one hit:
What does Bungie say? Bungie has yet to respond officially. However, the glitch is widely discussed within the community and is gaining much attention on Reddit and in the media.
After all, this allows some content to be significantly bypassed, and players can earn loot in a way that was not intended. It won’t take long for Bungie to fix this bug—historically, the studio is always relatively quick, as seen recently with Telesto.
Whether the finishers might need to go as a result and be disabled until the issue is fixed, as some fans fear, is unknown.
What do you think about this glitch? Are you generally against exploiting such errors or do you occasionally use a cheese as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone? Where is your line?
