As soon as Season 8 of Destiny 2 became available, a player managed to reach Level 100. In a post on Reddit, he reveals how he did it.
This is how the Season Pass works: The Pass for Season 8 introduced Season Ranks in Destiny 2 for the first time, similar to what you know from games like Fortnite. Guardians can collect EXP by completing various tasks in Destiny 2 and level up their rank.
When players reach certain levels in the ranks, they receive rewards, such as:
- EXP Boosters
- Cosmetics
- Resources
- Legendary Gear
So, there is a really hefty amount of EXP that you need to collect to reach Rank 100 and pick up all the rewards of the Season Pass along the way. However, one player has already completed the grind. The user JPDeathBlade was the first to report that he reached Rank 100.

While other Guardians were battling for the World First Kill in the new raid, he seems to have secured the World First Rank 100.
How did he do it? In a thread on Reddit, JPDeathBlade revealed how he was able to reach Rank 100 in less than a week after launch.
The strategy through which he farmed the majority of his EXP was as simple as it was grind-heavy: He spammed the Bounties from Eris Morn continuously. He bought all Bounties for 3,000 Glimmer and headed to the Lost Sector K1 Logistics:
On a good run, I could complete all 5 at the same time. I deleted Tidal Lock and started over. It’s very grind-heavy, but it gives you a level for every 3 to 5 sector runs.

This method may be dull, but it’s still very efficient. JPDeathBlade took the extreme grind with humor. When asked in the thread if he knew what the sun looked like, he replied with: “…sun?”
What comes after Level 100? After reaching Level 100 with the Season Pass and collecting all the rewards along the way, according to JPDeathBlade, you receive so-called “Nostalgic Engrams” every 500,000 EXP. These engrams drop random cosmetics from previous seasons of Destiny 2.
In addition, the Guardian has collected tons of EXP for his Gate Lord’s Eye, which has given him a power bonus of +13.
There are still about two months left until the end of the season.
