To complete the quest An Impossible Task in Destiny 2, you must hunt 15 Vex Transformers across the solar system. In this guide, we will reveal to you where they are located.
This is how to start the quest: You have obtained the shotgun Perfect Paradox and are wondering what to do next? Once you have the weapon, speak to Osiris on Mercury. He will give you the quest An Impossible Task.
During this quest line, you need to find a total of 15 so-called Vex Transformers on three different planets. Below we detail where you can find the floating Vex cubes.
All Vex Transformers on Nessus
The 1st Vex Transformer on Nessus: The search starts in the east of Nessus in the Exodus Black zone. Turn right from the spawn and look for a cave entrance. Nearby, some Fallen or Vex are usually present.
Follow the tunnels in the cave system until you reach a larger cavern. Look up, and you will find the first Vex Transformer.
The 2nd Vex Transformer on Nessus: Head from Exodus Black to the south of the map to the area Clearing of Echoes. Near the entrance of the Lost Sector, you will find the second Vex Transformer hidden among the debris. Keep an eye out for a makeshift shelter.
The 3rd Vex Transformer on Nessus: Travel via fast travel to the zone Artifact’s Scar in the middle of the map. Stand on the plateau and turn 180°. In front of you, you will see the third Vex Transformer. Shoot the construct with a long-range weapon.
The 4th Vex Transformer on Nessus: Jump down from the landing zone in Artifact’s Scar and head into the area Sink. You’re in the right place when a huge hole opens up in front of you. Don’t worry, jump in there.
Once at the bottom, go to the clearing where the public event usually takes place. From the flag, you can see the fourth Vex Transformer on the cave wall.
The 5th Vex Transformer on Nessus: Now fast travel back to Artifact’s Scar. This time, jump towards the Wilderness. Once there, you will see massive trees. Examine the roots of the first tree closely. The fifth Vex Transformer is located here.

All Vex Transformers on IO
The 1st Vex Transformer on Io: Start in the landing zone in the area The Rift. From here, go straight until you find the entrance to the Pyramidion on your right. Look up to the right. This ledge is your target.

After a few jumps, turn around when you reach the top, and you will find the first Vex Transformer in the air behind you.
The 2nd Vex Transformer on Io: Head back to the landing zone in the Rift and make your way to the Lost Sector The Rupture. Fight your way through the area and keep climbing higher.
When you reach the middle area, keep an eye out for an opening in the rock wall. Jump in, and you will find the second Vex Transformer right in front of you. If you reach the boss, you need to go back one level.
The 3rd Vex Transformer on Io: Now fast travel to the Lost Oasis. In the middle of the zone, you will see a huge dead tree. The public event usually takes place beneath it. Look up and discover the third Vex Transformer.

The 4th Vex Transformer on Io: Jump on your Sparrow and head towards Terra Base Charon in the north. Just before you enter the central area, the fourth Vex Transformer is waiting just in front of the fortress entrance. You will find it behind some crates on a small hill.
The 5th Vex Transformer on Io: Head to the area The Giant’s Scar in the northeast. Here on the far right of the map, you will find the entrance to the excavation site.
Fight your way through the tunnels of the excavation site until you find a half-closed door on your right. Upon closer inspection, the fifth Vex Transformer is revealed behind it.

All Vex Transformers on Mercury
The 1st Vex Transformer on Mercury: The first Vex Transformer is located in the north of the map. However, it is not hiding by Brother Vance, but is outside the Lighthouse. Jump and climb behind the building and look above you for the object of desire.

The 2nd Vex Transformer on Mercury: From the landing zone on Mercury, head to the left to the edge of the map. There, where the outside area of the public event usually is, the second Vex Transformer hovers in the distance. With, for example, a scout or sniper rifle you can hit the cube from the mainland without any problems.

The 3rd Vex Transformer on Mercury: From your previous position, turn 180° and head towards the center of the map. Here you will find a kind of waterfall. You often encounter a Vex Harpy here.
Directly behind the waterfall, on the wall, there is a semicircular wall. Run around it and find the third Vex Transformer in an incline.

The 4th Vex Transformer on Mercury: Now look south towards the massive Pyramid construction. You know this as the entrance to the strikes on Mercury. High above the portal hovers the fourth Vex Transformer. Once again, your long-range weapon will serve you well here.

The 5th Vex Transformer on Mercury: At the very western end of the map is your next and last target. Once you reach the edge of the map, look down and see a small ledge in the rock wall beneath you. Let yourself fall down and find the fifth Vex Transformer.

I found all Transformers – What now? Once you have found and destroyed all 15 Vex Transformers, you need to defeat some Vex and then pay Osiris another visit on Mercury.
The Warlock will send you on a time travel journey to the past. Here, you will need to correct Osiris’s mistakes and encounter a familiar face. We don’t want to reveal too much at this point.
But the Season 9 could be a real treat for lore fans of Destiny.
