In Destiny 2, Season 10 is coming soon. Bungie has now shown for the first time what exactly will happen to your gear in a week. Numerous adjustments to Exotics are included, and some legendary favorites are returning.
The Season of the Worthy in Destiny 2 is just around the corner. In the latest TWaB (March 6), Bungie provides many insights into upcoming changes and offers a preview of the patch notes on March 13.
There is a lot to discuss. The next few lines will focus on the changed gear and weapon adjustments coming with Season 10 to Destiny 2.
This is how the Exotic Armor changes in the Season of the Worthy
Among the numerous changes presented, everything is represented: There are buffs, nerfs, and even complete reworks. We present all 17 Exotic Armor pieces that will be revised.
These Hunter Exotics will be revised
Assassin’s Cowl: The Exotic helmet Assassin’s Cowl will be heavily buffed:
- The invisibility and healing effect is now triggered by charged melee attacks and finishers (against PvE enemies and Guardians)
- The duration of invisibility increases depending on the level of the defeated enemy
- Kills with the Arc Staff super no longer activate the Exotic
Previously, the Exotic only provided bonus effects after a kill. With the changes, the helmet will be useful in many more situations.
Fr0st-EE5: The Exotic boots Fr0st-EE5 receive a nerf:
- The ability regeneration has been modified so that it can no longer stack with other perks that recharge class abilities
Using the boots in combination with mods, Hunters could recharge their dodge ability in a very short time. The recovery rate of your other abilities seems unaffected.
Khepri’s Sting: The Exotic gloves Khepri’s Sting receive a strong buff:
- The damage of all smoke bombs is increased by 150%.
With full melee energy, your melee hits now drop significantly stronger smoke bombs. Additionally, the Exotic now also works on thrown smoke bombs.
Orpheus Rig: The Exotic boots Orpheus Rig will be nerfed again:
- The maximum amount of super energy regained from Shadowshot is now 50%
No matter how many enemies you tether with your arrow, the popular boots will no longer return more than half of your super energy. Previously, it was possible to partially recharge the super completely.
Ahamkara’s Spine: The Exotic gloves Ahamkara’s Spine receive a small buff:
- Increases the explosion radius of tripmine grenades by 14%
The proximity mines are now slightly better for controlling tight passages. Additionally, the mines will be able to stick to Guardians again starting from Season 10.
These Titan Exotics will be revised
Ashen Wake: The Exotic gloves Ashen Wake are getting buffed:
- Killing an enemy with a fusion grenade now refunds grenade energy. The amount depends on the level of the defeated enemy
The thrown grenade still does not kill with one hit but, when used correctly, allows for an increased availability of the instantly detonating fusion grenade variant.
Anathetus Shield: The Exotic boots Anathetus Shield are getting buffed:
- The shield granted now does not allow “chip damage” (minimal damage) to pass through
With the change, the boots provide even greater protection. You can slide into a hostile attack and reflect it more carelessly.
Fatebringer’s Pauldrons: The Exotic gloves Fatebringer’s Pauldrons are being fixed:
- A bug has been fixed that sometimes granted super energy from melee kills during active super
Due to the bug, Sentinel Titans were able to maintain their super much longer than intended. The exotic effect still works with normal void melee kills.
Dune Strider: The Exotic boots Dune Strider receive a strong buff:
- The radius of the static charge is increased to 20 meters (previously 12 meters)
The shock damage after a sprint now has nearly double the range and can chain much further to shock more enemies.
Type 44 Offside: The Exotic boots Type 44 Offside receive a buff:
- The delay from the start of the sprint to the activation of the overshield is reduced from 1.25 to 0.5 seconds.
With the changes, Titans will benefit from the useful overshield earlier and can bridge the gap to the enemy more safely or secure themselves when retreating.
One-Eyed Mask: The Exotic helmet One-Eyed Mask is being nerfed again:
- You can no longer track enemies through walls; targets are now highlighted more clearly instead
- There is no longer a damage bonus when you defeat your marked target
- You now regain an overshield when the marked target is defeated. The shield lasts for 6 seconds (previously 8 seconds).
The Exotic loses one of its strongest abilities with the tracking. The focus is now more on support during a direct duel. Additionally, you can dive into the next fight more quickly.
Split Hearth: The Exotic chest piece Split Hearth receives two buffs:
- The explosion is now triggered by a charged melee hit or finisher (against PvE enemies and Guardians)
- The radius and damage of the explosion increase based on the level of the defeated enemy
The armor triggered the explosion only on a kill before. Now Titans can cause more and stronger explosions.
These Warlock Exotics will be revised
Apotheosis Veil: The Exotic helmet Apotheosis Veil receives a change in stats:
- This Exotic now guarantees a minimum of +16 to intellect with every drop
The distribution of stats for all other armors is highly dependent on luck. With the increased intellect value, you build your super faster.
Controversial Hold: The Exotic gloves Controversial Hold are getting nerfed:
- The damage reduction granted is decreased from 40% to 20%
Previously, Warlocks could easily tank shots from, for example, special weapons thanks to the gloves and a charged hand supernova; now more caution is required. The powerful hand supernova is additionally nerfed.
Blood Alchemy: The Exotic chest piece Blood Alchemy receives a complete overhaul:
- The new perk “Blood Magic” allows you to pause the countdown and extend the duration of the Rift through weapon kills while you are in a Rift
Previously, the Exotic marked enemies and improved radar while you stood in a Rift. This change removes another wall-hack ability from the game.
Ophidian Aspect: The Exotic gloves Ophidian Aspect receive an adjustment:
- The gloves now grant increased melee range, even when you are not using a charged melee
Every strike of the Warlock is now enhanced by the Exotic. Additionally, all Warlocks receive a general increase to their melee hits by one meter.
Braid of Truth: The Exotic helmet Braid of Truth receives a buff and a “Quality of Life” improvement:
- For each stack of the Exotic perk, you now deal 10% more grenade damage
- The reload rate of allied grenades starts as soon as you activate your grenade
- You receive a screen notification indicating how many allies you have supported
Previously, kills with energy weapons decreased the grenade recharge rate for you and allies. With the changes, allies still benefit from your Exotic, but now deal up to 30% more grenade damage.
Season 10 brings more gear into the game
Here’s how to get more variety in gear: With the start of Season 10, legendary engrams will have a larger loot pool. Currently, there are 3 armor sets per class found in the engrams.
From March 10, the number will increase to an impressive 11 sets. Included are armors that have been difficult to find so far. But already disappeared armors will also make a comeback in the engrams.
The Faction Gear is returning: Due to the modified engrams, the coveted armors from the Faction Rally are returning to Destiny 2 after almost 2 years.
The Faction Rally itself last took place in 2018 and the event is not expected to return in the near future. Guardians among you who unlocked ornaments with the factions back then will also be able to use the ornaments on the current version of the armor.
The Community Manager dmg04 stated (via Twitter), that several of the most popular weapons from past seasons will also return to the loot pool.
The stats of the armor are being improved
Finding good armor will be easier: Those searching for armor with perfect stats have reason to rejoice. Bungie announced that from Season 10 onwards, you will have better chances for high stat rolls.
- Armors from Primus engrams should more often have high stats and a better distribution of values
- Exotic armors should drop more frequently with high stats
- Legendary armors will have a slightly higher chance for good stats, but there will still be weak rolls as well
