Collective Obligation – Exotic Pulse Rifle
This is what the weapon can do: The new raid exotic can easily “absorb” Void debuffs. “Collective Obligation” has the exotic perk “Void Eater,” which allows it to absorb Void debuffs when you deal damage to suppressed, weakened, or volatile targets with the pulse rifle. This way, you can practically store your abilities in the weapon.
The magazine of this weapon is automatically reloaded when Devour or a Void overshield is active or when you become invisible.
To unleash the power of the “absorbed” Void debuffs, hold “R” (on PC) to switch fire modes. The weapon then applies the same Void debuffs that were absorbed before. If the target, for example, is affected by all three debuffs, the weapon can also store all three for maximum effect. When you switch back to shooting mode, a 10-second window activates in which all shots will have the Void Eater effect.
In which encounter do you get the weapon? If you were hoping for an exotic quest for the new raid exotic, you will be disappointed. The pulse rifle “Collective Obligation” is a random drop that can only be obtained from the final boss Rhulk in the “Oath of the Student” raid.
Which encounter in “The Oath of the Student” drops which loot?
Where can I find the raid gear? As in previous raids, not all gear drops in every encounter. Some weapons and armor drop only in a specific section, while others can be rewarded in multiple areas.
- In the 1st encounter “Acquisition,” you can expect the following gear: Submission (Submachine Gun), Deliverance (Fusion Rifle), Cataclysm (Linear Fusion Rifle), “Resonance Fury” Helmet, “Resonance Fury” Chest piece, and “Resonance Fury” Leg armor.
- The 2nd encounter “The Caretaker” rewards you with: Submission (Submachine Gun), Insidious (Pulse Rifle), Cataclysm (Linear Fusion Rifle), Forbearance (Grenade Launcher), “Resonance Fury” Helmet, “Resonance Fury” Arm armor, and “Resonance Fury” Mark.
- In the 3rd encounter “The Upended,” you can acquire: Submission (Submachine Gun), Deliverance (Fusion Rifle), “Resonance Fury” Chest piece, and “Resonance Fury” Leg armor.
- And against the final boss Rhulk, there’s the exclusive exotic pulse rifle “Collective Obligation,” Insidious (Pulse Rifle), Lubraes Ruin (Glaive), Forbearance (Grenade Launcher), “Resonance Fury” Helmet, “Resonance Fury” Arm armor, and the “Resonance Fury” Mark.

Once you have unlocked a piece of gear from the raid through an encounter, it may also appear in the raid chests. However, the exotic “Collective Obligation” is excluded from this – you can only obtain it after the final boss fight with Rhulk.

This is what the recommended Godroll looks like:
- Swarmed, Surrounded, or Successful Warm-Up, depending on whether you want more reload speed or damage.
- Perpetual Motion, Adrenaline Junkie, Harmony, or Chill Clip.
Is there a good alternative? Since this is the first legendary Stasis fusion rifle, there’s currently no real alternative in the game.
In which encounter do you get the weapon? The fusion rifle Deliverance drops in the first and second encounters of the “Oath of the Student” raid.
