Do we already know who the new character in the universe of Destiny 2 is under his helmet? 6 good reasons speak for an old acquaintance whom the players have long wanted to take down.
This is the new trainer: The start for new Guardians in Destiny 2 is quite chaotic. After a brief introduction, players are released into the vastness of the universe rather unprepared – often aimlessly and without guidance. With the release of Beyond Light, Bungie is completely overhauling the onboarding experience for newcomers, nostalgia seekers, and all Free2Play players:
During your first steps, you will encounter the Guardian Shaw Hun. The Hunter guides you through several missions in the Cosmodrome. He is essentially your trainer and teaches you to be a Guardian before you set foot in the last city of humanity.
Who is Shaw really? Behind Shaw is allegedly none other than Uldren Sov.
Sure, Guardians love to put on their tin foil hats and come up with absurd theories. But Shaw could really be the lost prince and sought-after murderer that we have been waiting for 2 years – because there is a lot of evidence to support this.
6 good reasons why Shaw is actually Uldren
Forbes has put together a whole list that sounds very convincing. We present you the evidence.
Clue 1 – the helmet: Almost all known NPCs in Destiny show their face. Only a few conceal their true appearance. These include Saint-14, Shaxx, and the deceased Speaker. It is known that Uldren is ostracized for his appearance and hides as a result. After all, he is responsible for the death of fan-favorite Cayde-6.
The player is supposed to build an emotional connection, and that is much easier when we see Zavala’s face contort or Eva Levante smiling at us during the Halloween event. By the end of the introductory quests, Shaw’s helmet could fall off, revealing the face of the screamer Uldren.
Clue 2 – the Cosmodrome: The new introduction takes place in the familiar Destiny 1 location “Cosmodrome”. We have known for over a year that Uldren is hiding there. A wandering Guardian, newly awakened, could easily run into the wandering prince here.

Clue 3 – Uldren is a Hunter: Shaw is clearly a Hunter. He wears the characteristic cloak and even a class-specific Exotic. Even before his revival as a Guardian, Uldren was portrayed like a Hunter.
Moreover, we recently learned that Uldren will most likely take over Cayde’s role as the leader of the Hunter Vanguard.
Clue 4 – The Curse of the Dragon: If we take a closer look at his Exotic, we notice that it is the gloves Ahamkara’s Spine. The Ahamkaras are the Destiny version of dragons, and Uldren was cursed by the last specimen.
This ultimately led to the epic revenge story of Forsaken. It would be quite a coincidence if Bungie hands him the exact Exotic that ties Hunters to Ahamkaras. Also, Shaw’s pants are actually gear from the “Last Wish” raid, where the dragon is ultimately slain.
Clue 5 – The Time: About 2 years ago, Uldren woke up without memory as a Guardian. By Christmas 2019, we learned that he is roaming the Cosmodrome but is frightened. That should be enough time to familiarize himself with the area and form a team.
As we now wander through the foreign area, similar to him without knowledge, he might feel sympathy or follow his fate, bringing us to the Tower and taking up his post there.
Clue 6 – The familiar symbol: The last clue does not directly connect Shaw and Uldren. However, we know from small teasers from Bungie that the symbol on Uldren’s armor in Beyond Light is used as an icon for the Cosmodrome.
Therefore, speculation has been ongoing since September that we will encounter him here as an NPC. Shaw’s cloak conceals the spot where the symbol should be in the known image.
What do you think, is the evidence overwhelming and Shaw is indeed Uldren? Could you forgive the murderer of Cayde and find it exciting that he is training the new Guardians?
Or do you think that Bungie has included a reference to the “Fast & Furious” film series here? Because in the gasoline and testosterone-fueled action cinema, the good-natured Han gets taken out by the bad boy Shaw.
