The fans of the MMO shooter Defiance are still waiting for the promised transition to the free-to-play mode for the consoles Playstation 3 and XBox 360.
Originally, the switch to a free model for the consoles was planned for July 15, but it was postponed at short notice to an indefinite time. According to Trion Worlds, new elements were introduced into the game in conjunction with the television series, which made the MMO shooter unstable. And they did not want to burden the expected newcomers with such a gaming experience.
Clearly, the work is taking longer. Even more than two weeks after the missed deadline, a date for the switch to F2P on Playstation 3 and XBox 360 is still not known. A community representative from Trion Worlds recently mentioned that they at least want to provide a new date for the transition soon. We will keep you updated on the developments.
Mein MMO thinks: This is definitely not the polite way to announce a date for a transition, cancel it at short notice, and then leave the fans in the lurch. It especially leaves a sour taste that players were drawn to a game by advertising it as “free.” Tempted by the offer, some may have acquired Defiance somewhere cheaply because they did not want to wait any longer for the F2P transition.
Others may have lost interest in the game if the date could not be held for so long. In any case, it is an unfortunate situation. Hopefully, it will be resolved in the coming days.
