The SF MMO shooter Defiance benefits from the shooter boom triggered by the bestseller Destiny, according to Trion Worlds.
Scott Hartsman, the CEO of Trion Worlds, stated in a conversation with gamona that he is pleased that Destiny has been released – also for completely selfish reasons. The Destiny boom has sparked players’ interest. They are now looking for other MMO shooters on consoles, which is how they ended up with Defiance from Trion Worlds: “I’m glad Destiny is out. It has got more people thinking about playing an online MMO shooter on console. And more people looking for something like this has had a fantastic impact on Defiance.”
Defiance is free to play on PC and PlayStation 3. It is also playable on Xbox 360, but the planned transition to Free2Play has been delayed.
