The second beta test of the online shooter Defiance 2050 is coming up. And this time, even owners of an Xbox One can participate.
The first beta test, which took place last weekend, was a great success for the developer studio Trion Worlds. According to the team, several thousand players participated to get a first glimpse of the re-release of the online game. You can play again this weekend – and now even if you are playing on Xbox One .
Update: The beta will also take place on PS4, but the PS4 beta of Defiance 2050 is likely only intended for players from North America – for whatever reason.
Join the new beta
This is how you register for the beta:
- No matter if you play on PC or Xbox One, visit the Defiance 2050 website
- There, click on the large button “Sign Up”
- Next, indicate which platform (PC, Xbox One) you want to play on, provide your email address and age, and set a password
- Now you must wait to see if you receive a key sent to the specified email address
- The email contains further instructions on where to download the client and how to log in
- If you were already in the first beta, you will automatically receive an email with the new access

The new beta will include some additional features to test new gameplay systems. Which ones they are has not been discussed yet. Generally, Trion Worlds is withholding large explanations. The new beta takes place from April 27 to April 29.
The re-release of Defiance is especially aimed at PS4 and Xbox One owners.
