The launch of the online shooter Defiance 2050 did not go well. Players criticized the outdated gameplay, and Steam player numbers are decreasing steadily. Now, a big update is supposed to fix this.
Now, the extensive update “Trouble In Paradise” and the Crusader Pack have been released. This introduces a Halloween event and also a new class in the online shooter.
A much-needed update
This is what the “Trouble in Paradise” update brings: The update introduces, among other things, the Halloween event and new weapons.
- Hulker Hell – The Halloween event brings new terrors to paradise. Your task is to defeat the Hulker Hell Major and Minor Arkhfalls to earn rewards until November 5.
- Prototypes – New, rare, and powerful weapons will make their way into the game as loot.
- Weapon skins – You can use new weapon skins to give your favorite weapons a special look.
What does the Crusader bring? The new class from the Crusader Pack fights with a two-handed hammer and utilizes a range of new abilities:
- Hammer Time – You summon a hammer to take out enemies with raw force.
- Lightning – You jump into the air to stun enemies caught at the impact point for 2 seconds.
- Grit – Reduces damage when your vitality drops below 25%.
- Vortex – You create a vortex that pulls enemies to your position, making them easy prey for your hammer.
- Meteor Smash – You summon a meteor that crashes down on enemies and explodes upon impact, knocking monsters back with the explosion.
The update would actually be good, but…
This is how the fans are reacting: For many players of Defiance 2050, this is an essential update. The online shooter has been heavily criticized since its launch for being outdated and having performance issues and bugs. Player numbers on Steam have been declining since release in July. Fans hope that the update can turn the trend around and that Defiance 2050 can finally show what it has to offer.
While the content of the update is generally well-received by players, numerous bugs have been introduced again. There have been frequent crashes since the update, and the perks of the classes are no longer saved in the loadout.
Player SeagullsSayHi in the official forum for example writes: “The state of the game is so disappointing. I was looking forward to finding as many prototypes as possible during the event.”
This statement essentially reflects the opinion of the community: The update would actually be good, but technical problems are once again ruining the fun of the game.
