The new PlayStation 5 was released completely in white, which didn’t please every fan. The retailer SUP3R5 has now created a retro version of the console in black and will sell it later this week. This is a complete console. However, you will have to pay more for it.
What kind of console is this? The retro-style PS5 comes completely in black and is said to be inspired by the old PS2. In addition to the color adjustment, there is also a modified logo, as well as a completely redesigned controller in the same style.
This offer consists of complete consoles that can be ordered starting January 8 and will be shipped in the “late spring”.
However, the adjustments come at a price.
- The black consoles are available starting at 649 dollars, and with a disc drive, you will even pay 749 dollars.
- The shop SUP3R5 also ships to Germany and other countries in Europe. However, it is not known if additional shipping costs will apply.

How are the changes made? The retailer describes on its page that each console is manually revised. Gloves are used so that the console will not have fingerprints or grease marks.
While the console is mainly worked on externally, the DualSense controller needs to be opened. This will void the warranty from Sony. You also need to keep this in mind when purchasing.
However, the console retains its warranty.
If you are only interested in the controller, you can purchase it separately. SUP3R5 offers the controller without warranty for 99 dollars. There will also be an additional 500 units available.
The desire for a black console is great, but it doesn’t have to be expensive
